so are you truly happy with your 2014 JGC Ecodeisel

Just curious to see if the 2014 folks are still happy with your rig, and how many miles have you on your rig. I've got just under 40K and have had the new CAT fix a new fuel system installed due to catastrophic failure of fuel pump at 30k. Still under warrantee.. Very happy with the care, but the major fuel system improding at 30 has me worried..

Re: so are you truly happy with your 2014 JGC Ecodeisel

51K miles and love my ride. Have had the CAT replaced and that is it. I think my power steering fluid loss may have stabilized and air in the system may be the cause. However still watching it closely. Until I put a Rocky Road Outterfitters Rack on my mileage was 28-30 mpg now with the rack down to 26-27 mpg.
Would I buy it again today?
Hard call I am a diesel guy at heart but my new 17 Outback is everything the Jeep is but $19K cheaper thus making it a hard call....

If my friggin transmission would stop bumping from 2-1 I would love it.....

If anybody is wondering, I've had all updates, the recall, relearns, and valve body. Still got the bump. So annoying...

On my second Wk2 and have done a combined 120,000 km. Very happy with the diesel. Nothing comes close for the money.

Yes!

The two "major" issues with ours were warped front discs and the SCR recall but we have not done the "idiot proof" tranny recall. I don't want to "mess with success" by getting this done!

Other than that, at 39k it is running like a champ with about 2/3rds of the mileage towing our Travel Trailer. I've done all the maintenance myself (being anal and all) and use Power Services Diesel Kleen and Cetane boost every other tankful.

Re: so are you truly happy with your 2014 JGC Ecodeisel

46k on mine and very happy (only let down as a cv joint when brand new and SCR catalyst which took 1 day to get done). Have to return or buy it next month (lease) so not sure what to do as want to get a '17 to replace it but can't.

For the money the WK2 Ecodiesel is in a class all by itself. No other vehicle has it's towing, off road capability, MPG, content for the money (air ride, leather, adv tech, nav, climate seating). It is simply a Landrover Discovery diesel for $20k less.

Re: so are you truly happy with your 2014 JGC Ecodeisel

Hell Yes!! Bought mine wiht 17K miles last August. I have all the service records and know that it had the SCR done, and that was it. I've added 33K trouble free miles over the last seven months (turned 50K miles yesterday) and I LOVE it.

That said, I think it really depends on your actual use of the vehicle. If you bought it to replace your commuter SUV thinking its better mileage is a good thing then your satisfaction may vary. For me, the combination of fuel economy, towing, hauling and off-road capability, all in one vehicle is unbeatable. Add in the overall comfort and luxury of the Overland package and there is simply no other vehicle that compares...in my humble opinion.

Planning to keep mine at least to the 250K mile mark...

I bought mine used and have only had for a few weeks, but love it so far! Previous owner piled on 83,000 miles. Basic recall items fixed, but no other issues that I know of.

Agreed, after much shopping around, best buy for the money. Creature comfort, tow capability, fun to drive, great looks, and incredible MPG.

Same here, same fixes and 46K. Overall very happy, can't outdrive the fuel range in one day... great to take on long trips. only minor disappointment is the fuel economy seems to be going down with every recall and supposed "Update".
When newer I easily got over 30 MPG on the highway, now lucky to break 28.. but still very happy!
I just hope it's dependability holds in there for long term.. that will determine how long I keep it!

How is yours holding up now? How many miles currently? Have you done a transmission fluid change yet?

Re: so are you truly happy with your 2014 JGC Ecodeisel

Yes....Bang for buck wise and aesthetically, but I have some concerns of what I'll face in the long term. I'm at 80 K+ Miles.

I have avoided most newer computer updates. As others have said "If it aint broke don't fix it".

I periodically discover new little gotcha's, but most every car I've owned since new has had them. My biggest issue to date would be the emissions system, but thanks to GDE I'm hoping that's behind me, until well after 200K miles.

My mileage at best; has been 34.5 MPG at 60mph for 828 miles w/ duratracs , mopar rock rails , and a homebrew roof rack removed. Winter i'm between 26-29, depending on whats on the roof and how I drive.

Looks like my steering fluid has stabilized after 2k miles.

Current mysteries / issues:
- my coolant bottle and level are my newest concern. Level doesn't seem to show accurately and I have sludge (casting sand, maybe) all over the inside of the bottle. May just flush system and replace w/ new reservoir.
-Air intake design for snowy weather driving has shown to be a problem- looking to possibly remedy with CAI setup
