Hi, I'm in the process of having the SRT installed due to a Bambi strike, body shop is hesitant to make a mod. Any additional pictures\info on the bracket made?

Thanks!

Craig

I'm picking mine up after 5 1/2 weeks at the shop tomorrow. I think I have a bracket that will work but I'll worry about that after I get it home. for the drive home I'll just let the coolant bottle hang loose on the one mounting screw. I'll take pictures when I get around to messing with it tomorrow night or Wednesday.

That's what I'm doing as well, rotated the bottle so the body shop is ok with the fit.. If I come up with a bracket, I'll send pic's..

I picked up my jeep last night. the hood looks pretty cool. By disconnecting the left-most mounting screw and rotating the bottle towards the ECU, the hood scoop clears the cap easily. I had a bracket to extend the new mounting orientation but I seemed to have misplaced it. I see that as kind of a non-issue. However, there is another problem.
The body of the bottle itself still hits the underside edge of the scoop. I think the whole thing needs to come down an 1/8" or so. The hood will still shut, but I think over time it will cause problems (either the interior scoop will crack or the hood itself will develop a warp.
I'm not sure what I am going to do but I'm leaning towards take my dremel to the inside (underside) of the scoop to see if I can provide the needed clearance. It may not take much. I'm curious to hear your take once you get a chance to fiddle with it.

I've noticed the same issue, hope to find time this weekend to ka'noodle a solution. It's not much, and personally I'd rather not grind the hood if I can help it..

Re: SRT Hood!!! Help....

Guys do you know what size tools I need to swap out a hood from stock to SRT on a wk2?

I'm guessing its just some sockets? let me know if you can recall I guess the front latch and hood arms?

I'm on the road right now and just curious if I have everything I need for my swap.
