Re: Summit hidden block heater plug

Could you technically drill through the plastic cover and the bumper? It would not be as clean a look but easier to access.

I then attached magnets to the bumper and to that cover piece, so it would stay on and could easily just be pulled off. Where the plug mounts is the plastic part of the bumper that is covered by the lower right grill piece.

Great Pennsylvanian engineering!....its hidden in plain sight...good job and great write up...I was trying to figure out how to do mine on the Trailhawk and you gave me some good ideas! Thanks again!

Re: Summit hidden block heater plug

Very Clever and Nicely Done!! Do you have any concerns about going through a car wash with that magnetically attached cover?

Re: Summit hidden block heater plug

Been through the wash at least a dozen times. I did lose 1 magnet when I pulled it off the other day just to check it out. I'd like to use a cable or rubber cord to loosely attach it but haven't looked much into it. The magnets are insanely strong though and hold fine for now.
