summit leather interior

Hello all. Would any of you with a summit care to chime in with your impression of the natura leather plus seats and interior?

The best trim i could look at was an overland with ventilated "leather" seats and every thing i touched felt like vinal/faux leather and did not breath at all.

Definitly want an ecodiesel. ..
Was VERY impressed with the natura leather in the 2014 srt... sales man said the summit for 2015 was supposed to be getting basically the same natura leather and lucky srt was getting even an even better laguna natura leather... but SEEING is believing.

Any way. .. really dislike the limited and overland's material and would be seriously sad and butthurt if I paid extra for a fully loaded summit with an overland interior after i just been sold on the idea of this "natura" leather

So let me know what you all think please.

Thanks guys!

You will be very pleased with the natural plus leather. It is butter smooth and has very nice graining.

Re: summit leather interior

Love the leather in mine. I did briefly drive an overland, but didn't get a chance to compare the two interiors. The seats/doors/dash/steering wheel feel very high quality. My wife and many others have commented on how soft the leather steering wheel is when they first touch it.

Re: summit leather interior

It's first class leather, it really is.

Also, don't the lower models of the GC have sort of puffy arm chair looking leather with folds? I hate that crap and that is what I saw online. The Summit has nice fitted Euro looking leather.

Re: summit leather interior

According to this, from Jeep, the SRT has leather seats. The Summit and Overland have leather trimmed seats.

You should look at them, and sit in them, before making your decision.

Thanks alot guys! Fast responses too!
Really appreciate your first hand impressions and opinions.

Yes I'd much prefer to sit in it before ordering one... waiting forever and then being disappointed (cynical skepticism taking), but that's just not possible when the nearest summit diesel me and the dealer could locate is in UTAH! Just finding a 4x4 overland is challenge in this desert.... Haha.

Will try finding some gasser sumits to look at on my way to Oregon since I'll be moving soon.

Thanks again. You'all rock.

Can't wait to get a fully loaded ecodiesel either way.

Re: summit leather interior

I was initially not particularly impressed with the leather in my summit, but I have grown to appreciate it much more. The material does feel somewhat unnatural compared to leather seats I have had in previous vehicles (most recently a BMW X3), but in hot or cold weather I find it remarkably comfortable. The perforation pattern in the seat material looks a bit odd at first, but the setting that directs air flow through the seats works very well in summer, and in winter the heated seats are very effective. I like the contrast stitching, and it seems to be holding up well. Overall the seating still looks brand new after about 9 months.

The seats themselves are not as well bolstered as the sports seats in my X3, but once I adjusted them properly I was pleasantly surprised at the support they provide.

In summary, although I don't think the material feels like high quality leather furniture, I am very pleased with how well it functions.

Re: summit leather interior

One thing my wife mentioned is the adjustabilty of the Summit seats.
On long distance trips she likes to move around a lot and tries to make a bed out of it half the time.... She says these are the best seats we have ever had for how it can be configured.....

Yep, even though the Summit leather seats look like a well-beaten baseball mitt by the time they are 13 months of age, they are quite comfortable.

Re: summit leather interior

If seat quality is your driver, I'd go custom Katzkins on a lower model. I like the Summit seats but nicest seats I've seen are on the Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition (It's the Ford King Ranch corollary). We are satisfied with the black seats/interior on our Overland.

Is this something you have witnessed in a number of Summits? It's the first time I've heard of this.
