So far at 800 miles on the new tires I am not impressed. There seems to be an echo, almost like the beat of a drum when going over a crack and at highway speeds this becomes quite annoying. This sound goes away on newer asphalt.

Current tire pressure is 36 psi and it looks like the tread blocks on the side of the tire that is meant to eliminate the road noise is touching the ground. Perhaps that's the issue...

Thoughts? Or do you think discount tire would take these back...

I love mine they are super quiet (for an A/T). the only way I see Discount Tire returning yours is if you can show that they are defective. The tires will hold a lot more psi than what you are currently running so you may want to experiment with different levels first?

I added some air today (40 psi), so hopefully that makes a difference.

I have quite a bit of road noise at highway speeds. I can def tell it's an AT. My Toyo Open Country AT IIs weren't as loud...
That's going to be quite a bit high for these tires. I'm not 100% sure yet but I am willing to bet these will actually do better at a slightly lower pressure than on the door tag. I am currently at 34 psi cold. These are stiffer tires than the POS factory car tires. Also, when you had them put on, did they do an alignment on all 4 corners? If you have Quadra Lift, did they do the alignment in Sport Mode? That can make a huge difference in how tires sound due to wear patterns.
I had 37" cooper discoverer stt on my cummins and those things were ridiculous. I feel like anything now is a whisper in comparison
 Yeah, have the same in 35" on my Wrangler soft top. The GC sounds like Im in a padded room with ear plugs in.

I just put these on Thursday, noticed the road noise at 50 mph right away but expected a little more noise with a/t. Have about 70 miles each way to the office so will check hwy noise level this week and report back. Running 36 psi for now.

Well my initial impressions are the TG2's are noticeably louder than stock tires but nothing you won't get use to if you need/want AT tires. They are also a bit rougher on the ride but I am running a couple more psi than stock. Was supposed to snow today and was hoping to test them but so far just rain and they handle that just fine. Not disappointed with my purchase but will wait a couple months before I would recommend them.

This is why I love the Goodyear AT Adventures w/ Kevlar. Just as quite as stock. I do prefer the more aggressive look of the Terra Grapplers, though...

Well I have about 17k on the jeep but only around 300 on the new tires and today when I looked at the evic it was 25ish and that's up from 23ish from when I put them on. I don't really track it much any more but would say I get around 25 in the winter and 28 in the summer. And I'm probably 90/10 hwy. I'll try and keep an eye on it for the next couple months. Also about 160 miles today and the road noise went unnoticed.

Update:
So it seems that around the 34-35 cold mark is going to be the sweet spot on these sneakers. At least for me.
On another note, we got about 4" of snow this morning. It was about 2" more than forecasted so I got to play around a little. These tires are great! Predictable, steady and sure footed. I put the GC in Sport mode and hit up an empty traffic circle to see what slide is like. It's predictable and smooth. If you goose it and get the Jeep sideways without changing throttle input, the hook up is seamless. There is nominal oversteer in the opposite direction. I can also say that Traction Control is never truly off :D it will kick in if you get really squirrelly. However it may have been the ASC. Either way, these beat the snot out of the Fortera that left me with 3 wheels spinning in my driveway last year!

I have been running the G2's for awhile now & they are amazing in the snow! Excellent traction all around! The new G2's are a much improved design over the previous Grappler! Also, selling the POS Fortera's was the smartest & safest move I ever made! Those are summer tires only, if you want my opinion!
