Dom's def protection plate is a cost-effective, well engineered solution to a design flaw that Jeep overlooked. Easy to install and works exactly as advertised. Great product! Wouldn't drive my diesel JGC without it!

Re: Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

The plate was well designed, and went on flawlessly. It covers the injector nicely. I noticed the sheathing around the injector was starting to shred when I put the plate on. Who knows how close I came to losing the injector. Now I know it is safe from road debris, snow, and off road hazards. Thanks again Dom.

Easy installation, good fitment. I used double sided tape at the rear but obviously the wrong stuff as it came loose and now I get a slight vibrating rattle from it at low rpm's. Will reinstall shortly with stronger double sided tape. On for almost 11000 miles now....upon recent inspection, all the wiring and the DEF injector look like new !

Dom has offered to send me a replacement front bolt and nut, but I can attest that even without those, the plate is firmly attached at two other points and offers a degree of protection and confidence that is well worth the price.
That same storm system produced water hazards up in West Palm Beach, and unfortunately I had not yet ordered the protection plate. I had my air springs up on offroad 1 for the worst of it, but alas: halfway thru the drive the message came up, and my jeep is in the shop waiting for an injector to materialize.

This may be the best endorsement: Same storm, 2 jeeps, 1 plate, 1 failure.

Re: Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

I ordered my DEFI panel when we had the group buy and installed it last week. Why did I buy it when I don't go off road except gravel roads and roads that are not a challenge for a Jeep? Because when looking at the underside of the Jeep the DEF injector is fairly well protected as long as nothing gets kicked up into the bottom of the Jeep. If it does it is very vulnerable.
Our roads always have debris on them and after taking a truck tire recap through the front end of my M3 BMW I decided better to protect than repair.
I plan to drive the Al-Can and sure don't want to be loose an injector there.

Installation was fine once I reamed the center hole aft a few mm's. I used only 3 of the 4 mounts but will do the 4th which is the vertical mount soon. In retrospect I should have used Loctite and if I remove the panel I will use that on all the fasteners. I don't expect to take this off soon.

The panel is well designed and robust. It does what it is supposed to and this was a HUGE oversite for Jeep. With this panel in place the Jeep is most likely trail rated but without the panel no way.

Hats off to DOM42 for designing, fabricating and producing the DEFI panel for us.

Would I buy this panel again? Yes in a heart beat...

Re: Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

Got the JGC back on Friday! The wife and I decided to head back up to Utah. We are Super happy Dom! I have tackled the same mud puddle the took out our DEF injector syetem a month ago, guess what? My DEF isnít broken! So I now have proof absolutely that the same driving habits with your plate = protection! therefore had I just installed your plate in the first place I would have saved myself an additional $800... Oh btw while here my wife went into labor and we now have a little girl! So I am now a first time daddy! And the JGC is what got me to the hospital in record time down the mountain! Oh and I hit that puddle at like 60 and the DEF was fine! Thank you for giving me the security to trust my vehicle again.

Re: Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

Was one of the 1st people to order it. Went on just fine and has worked well. Had to Loctite one screw that kept coming loose. All is good now.
The biggest challenge around here will be winter with Ice chunks and Debris on the road. Was worried before this plate, now not concerned at all, What else can you say... if you are worried about it then buy it and keep moving....

Re: Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

Dumb question based on the above pic (ordered a '15 Ecodiesel, don't have it yet, but already ordered Dom's plate): What exactly is being damaged that is causing the DEF injector to be broken off? I was under the impression that the injector was being broken off by being hit by debris, but based on the looks of it, the low-hanging wire is what is getting snagged. Correct? Does Dom's plate protect the wire? And does the TSB fix get the wire out of the way, thereby making the problem much less probable (and thereby Dom's plate just an extra bit of protection)?

Any pics of the injector know off or broken. The tubing on mine looks pretty snug against the body.

Still, I just purchased the plate.

Testimonial for DOMs DEF injector/ harness protection plate

When it rips off its breaking at the injector. Where the injector is plastic. My theory ( for water) is that the force of water and the gap between the harness allows the water to basically pry or pull the harness , in turn breaking injector. Or the water is just breaking the injector off.

So, now let's say the zip tie fix makes it tighter to frame which it does and i know for a fact it will HELP. No doubt. But really ? I zip tie lol. Ok let's say it does fix the problem 100 percent( no way , but just saying). That takes car of the water theory. What about road debris , brush/ branches. It's still vulnerable.

I'm not saying to get my plate, just put something in its way. But if you do get my plate , it is very much appreciated and just so you guys know it's all Usa made and you guys are helping create jobs no doubt.

Looking for that pic of broken injector. I thought I saved it on phone. Some one posted a pic of it hanging off.
