Your plate still installs basiclly the same, and goes directly over this factory plate. No hole is needed to be drilled into the frame because a factory bolt is already there in the location of the dimple you have in your plate. Simply drill the plate hole and use the factory bolt with a couple of washers as a spacer and it in. You might make a note of it in the instructions for the 2015,s built after the first of the year. This additional skid plate may be part of the ORA2 package's skid plates I dont know.

Holy crap!! Really? Can u take a picture of that factory skid plate for the harness? Totally understand if u can't because my plate is installed. I can go to the dealer and check it out.

That's pretty funny that my hole lines up.

And yes I will have to make this change.

They are so retarded. why not cover the whole thing? So weird????!!!!!!!??!?!??

With that said , sh1t, That make s my plate that much better not having to drill the frame.

Well. You were absolutely right about jeep putting a little protecting plate there. Just got back from dealer and confirmed this. Sales ppl looked at me all weirdo cuz I was that guy under the jeep taking pics and video lol.

http://youtu.be/z7cncbnhiAA

So, I feel like this new OEM bracket will Forsure help out with some of the water forging and hitting puddle of water at high speed. Let me explain. I feel like the injector is the weak link here because at the smallest point of the injector, it's plastic. And when one charges water , the force of the water coming off the tire leverages itself off the frame between the harness I turn breaking it off at the injector. So yes this will help. But are u kidding me Jeep? Why not go bigger and cover the whole damn thing? Why not just copy what I have ? Yeah that somewhat takes care of the water issue. But what about road debris like tire strips and or whatever is laying on our hwy's. Let's not even talk about Murphy's law when talking about off roading lol.

I'm pretty convinced that who ever is in charge of design etc is just not that bright!! I mean you guys can clearly see that a lot of the harness is exposed let alone the injector itself. A branch or whatever sticking up can still tag the harness( outside of frame rail) and the injector ( inside the frame rail)

Are u guys willing to take that chance? I'm not obviously because I'm the maker of the plate and I'm gonna swear mine is way better lol.

Looking at the bracket even more, for the 2014 and early 2015 that don't have the hole, if you went this route this new OEM bracket requires two holes to be drilled.

Interesting Dom! The jeep you filmed did it have the ora2 package?

So your plate will use a factory bolt at the back if it has this plate from the factory did you see?

Yes.

even if it doesnt have this, all the 2015 frames have the hole now. Its just the eco diesel have there own nutsert for that hole so it can accept a factory bolt. Pretty much the same bolt as the rest.

.

Video might be a little deceiving but if Jeep just went about 2-3 inches wider on both ends with this new Oem bracket, then my Jeepecodiesel biz would be no more. Its almost like they are throwing me another bone to eat on lol. Its clearly telling everyone that zip ties are not going to work and that something needs to deflect (in majority of the cases, water) whatever is going to get tossed in that area.

and no, this one did not have the ora2 package.

Does anyone know the part # of the OEM plate? And if it's part of a tsb that be retrofitted to previously built ecodiesel?

I tried obtaining the part number from dealer but as of two weeks ago they couldn't pull it up. I was trying to source the nutsert they are using to mount that bracket.

As far as the tsb. No, as of right now , and as far as I know it is not apart of the tsb. The tsb I have on the jeepecodieselfix.com site, is just for the zip ties. Which honestly i think this new bracket is about. Zip ties were just a small bandaid and this new bracket is a bigger bandaid
