Re: Texas Group Buy

Thank's Shannon,

I put a deposit down for a dealer trade on a limited, 2X4, 8.4 am/fm, tow package, maximum steel/black for $40,150 Is that a good price? They came off of invoice a little. I would also hate to lose my $1,000 deposit

Sounds a little high, but I would have to sit down and look at the numbers to see what you should pay. If you go to the ordering and pricing thread in the WK2 forum, you should be able to figure out invoice price. Then deduct the 5.5% off the INVOICE price, then add the 995 destination fee, and you will have your exact number you would pay with the Texas group buy. If your dealer has not ordered yours yet, or it is a vehicle he already has, you can push to get your deposit back. If he refuses, remind him you get to decide where to get service, and over the years, he will get way more than a thousand from you (and warranty work) and he is only shooting himself in the foot if he does not give the money back.

Re: Texas Group Buy

I had a $500 deposit on a vehicle that had been ordered and had a projected delivery date. The dealer refunded the $500 without question, and was very friendly. No hassles whatsoever.

I think dealers know if they hassle you, even for $1000, they not only lose you, but lose everyone you ever talk to. Plus on the internet, the story spreads like wildfire. Even if they tried to keep you in the vehicle, the profit will be lost through word-of-mouth.

As it turned out, the price I got from Houston was $2000 below my first dealer quote that I ordered the vehicle with. I figured that if he refused to refund, I could absorb the $500 loss and still come out ahead.....

Re: Texas Group Buy

I called and talked to the guy in Houston today, If he was to order it for me i'd save about $1600 compared to the deal I did in Austin, but the one I put my deposit on is a dealer trade and I will be able to drive it home in 2 weeks. For me i'm so excited to get my new Jeep ecodiesel that it is worth me losing $1600 to have it in 2 weeks vs 6-8 :-) Plus I already sold my current car to my sister and she needs it ASAP. Thanks so much for the information and I will definitely call him when i'm ready for a new Jeep, hopefully that won't be for many years though

Re: Texas Group Buy

Hey Shannon,

Can you PM me the group buy info? I have a lease up in the next year and want to start looking now, I'm considering trading it in early.

Thanks!

Re: Texas Group Buy

Put a $3000 deposit on a Diesel Summit with blu ray and engine block heater last Friday... Then came upon this thread. I wish it would have happened in reverse order. Anyways, the price is $56,200 after destination and dealer fee. Any idea what the group buy would save me? The other side to that is I would have to fly to Houston and drive the car 800 or so miles. The Jeep I am getting is currently being driven to kc from Denver (600 miles). Thoughts? Besides the fact that it seems like I way overpaid? I am supposed to take delivery this Tuesday or Wednesday... Can I back out? Should I? Thanks in advance!
