Just towed a 5x8 U-Haul trailer full of furniture from Ellensburg, WA over Snoqualmie Pass to the west side. I kept the speed between 65 and 70. Averaged 24mpg; that's better than my WK CRD did not towing! Trans temps didn't go above 198F and oil temps didn't go above 230F with three people in the Jeep with the A/C on. Engine temps didn't go above the first tick above 1/2.

Yeah, but I don't remember it getting higher than about 2/3 full scale. Temp would come up to that point rather quickly, then stay there. Outside temps were in the mid 80s except on top.

I was watching mostly out of learned-paranoia; when towing in the mountains with my WJ, it constantly overheated.

I don't remember what the tranny & oil temps got up to, but they weren't too out of line, either.

This seems to be an ideal tow vehicle for its size...
