Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

Good evening, I'm from Brazil. Forgive the typos, you're using google translator.
In March 2015 I bought a GC limited diesel and am so far satisfied.
I'm thinking of installing a power chip or chip peformance or tunnig (I do not know how you call it)
In Brazil the jeep cars are not very popular so do not have many people to exchange information.
I wonder if putting chip and removing it when you take the revisions Dealers (durantre guarantee) they must detect that my jeep had installed chip
thank you for help.

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

I see you are Down Under.

Are you going to offer product for the US market?
Will you have US support?
Will the tune be detectable by dealers?
What happens if my dealer automatically reflashs (updates) my ECU?
I see your chart that shows less regens. That's important. The TS product has had the opposite effect which is unacceptable to me.

What's the downside to running the hot tune as opposed to to the Eco tune? Will I experience more regens? Compared to stock?

I'm very interested in your product for my wife's Jeep GC Eco-D. Thanks.

His link is to Green Diesel Engineering which is based out of Commerce Township, MI; northwest side of Detroit.

While on the tuning subject, would be nice if one of these companies made a Uconnect App to display EGT/boost etc. rather than adding extra screens etc. Maybe it could transmit the data wirelessly.

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

I'm interested in calibrated power solutions tuning. Hopefully it comes to fruition soon. The banks bullet is available now. Only adds "up to" 31 hp though. I would think about 40hp and 50ft/lbs should be avaiable for a remap.

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

I had one of Keith's GDE Eco Tune with DPF delete on my '07 WK CRD and it was absolutely awesome! MPG went up and power was flawless - my DPF was getting close to clogged so did the delete with the tune to eliminate it entirely (both the pipe and the tune cost $1k versus $3k for replacing the DPF at the dealer).

Here is also the link to the GDE tune for the FCA 3.0 Ecodiesel

Re: Tuning your EcoDiesel

I emailed some questions to GDE. They will start selling their WK2 3.0 tune sometime next month. It requires the info from the ECU, they'll clone a spare ECU on their end, mail it to you, you pay a core charge for this, swap it out and ship yours back to them.

In a handful of months, they hope to get their flash tool up and running. When that hits the ground, they'll be able to email tunes back and forth. This is what I'm used to with my VW TDI and it's really the way to go. Custom maps, easy day!

After reading GDE's site, I really really like what they did with the EGR function. I hate EGR's on turbo diesels but will leave mine in tact throughout the warranty period. Glad to see the reduced clogging from their tuning. The only thing that I'd like to see increased is the power gains from GDE. Their "Hot Tune" is 28hp and 55 ft/lbs. Maybe that's what we are safely limited to with stock dpf restrictions?

More power is better, of course, but keep in mind there's more to it than JUST peak power. The GDE tune has a less "peaky", flatter curve so not only do you get more HP and torque, but you get it for longer. That really helps with stoplight drags to 60. :-)

From reading some of GDE's posts on the RAM forums, it sounds like our little stock turbo is a bottleneck holding them back too.
