U connect subscription expired

Any thoughts for paying 15/mo for UConnect access. To me, this seems outrageous for what you get. Just want to hear what others think.

I dropped it without a second thought. Outrageous pricing.

Re: U connect subscription expired

Totally overrated features. The only handy feature is Internet Remote Start. I used it twice in a year. 180 bucks a year is $90 per remote start at that rate!

I think if it is outrageous to you, then it is outrageous to you.
Is there anything in it that you would consider paying 180 bucks per year?

You could probably hire a neighborhood kid for 11% of that...

U connect sucks imho. Sirius xm on the other hand is the $hit. Works waay down in Baja in the middle of the desert no problem.

LOL

I actually use it several times a week - mainly at the office since it takes me 5 minutes to get to my car. Otherwise, it's an overpriced "toy" that needs to be cut by about 80% in price. I won't miss it when it is gone though.

I'm more concerned with getting an up to date NAV map.

Re: U connect subscription expired

I would pay 15 a month if...

A. It used its own data thereby taking a data consumer off my cell data.
B. It used Google satellite imagery on the nav which it would of course download off its own data connection.
C. It included Sirius. Frankly I almost never listen to it because I can stream from my phone with better sound quality but if it were thrown in I would consider it a value add for times when I accidentally left my phone in my coat which I often toss in the back seat.

Do those things and I'm in, right now it does nothing for me that my phone doesn't do better. To be honest I wouldn't pay anything for the service as is, I get no value whatsoever from it now. I remote started my car once over the internet just to check it out and the apps don't work as well as the native apps on my phone so I never use them.

One last to be honest... I get tired of boy wonders trying to think up new ways to get recurring income and most particularly when they want to offer up a steaming pile of dung in exchange for that money. They can get someone else to pay for the champagne on the corporate jet.

Does the subscription cover wifi hotspot and internet access from the car?
How long is the free subscription period?

No, I don't believe it does... and not for that price.

It's another separate charge and it's fairly expensive.
