Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

Right out of dealers lot. Thieves took keys out of service drop off box. Half dozen vehicles stolen.
I may need to make a fast decision on a 2015 replacement. I had a Canadian 2014 Overland diesel with the Offroad package and really liked it. What would be the difference in a 2015. Only option was the cd player. Price difference? I got a really good deal on the 2014.
Thanks folks! No time to search.

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

Don't you need to wait for the police report, possible recovery, insurance settlement, etc. before doing anything? What is the rush?

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

The theft has a file number, that's all I need for insurance. They've verified it's been stolen. I was surprised, but I can settle as an unrecovered theft right away. Financially the right thing to do as I don't want to deal with a mess if it is found. If I settle before it is recovered I get a new vehicle(more or less). Crazy

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

Fast advice is the worst kind. So, my fast advice to you is, "Slow Down". Get your settlement figures and the prices of the replacements that are available. Then make a calm, rational decision.

And, good luck!

It's called a waiver of depreciation on new vehicle insurance. Waiting now for paperwork, trying to find a suitable 2015 replacement. If the phone rings and they've found a repairable wreck- that would be the worst result. This was a low mileage, unmarked, mint car.
Right now trying to find out what is different on a 2015.

Thanks for the good wishes. I didn't mention I'm leaving for a seven thousand km road trip on the weekend. Car rental won't cut it. I don't see a down side to this- I'm not signing anything until I have the offer in writing.

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

IMHO, take the replacement if they offer it to you, and do it quickly!

a. Those stolen vehicles are probably now on their way to Eastern Europe or the Middle East!
b. I've had a vehicle stolen and returned (NOT in the same condition it was when I parked it!) . It was a bloody insurance nightmare....long story short, I had it repaired and then promptly traded it.

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

Got confirmation of the money- need to confirm a vehicle and I'm good to go. Hard to find a GC with the Offroad II package here.
Could someone please possibly post a link to the 2015 CAN/US dealer costs- I have the 2014, but not 2015. Can't find it.
Trying to get the replacement at cost from the dealer involved.
Thanks!

Re: Vehicle Stolen- need some fast advice

Nothing is different on a 2015 other than it should be a little more problem free.
