Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Somebody with access should bring this up in a parts catalog so we know if it is what we hope it is.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

I just had my dealer order me one, they said it may take 3-4 days to get in. I'll post up some pictures once I have it in hand.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Thanks MTNDEW.

Good luck with the install....really hope it is the right part. Its unfortunate that we don't have access to an on-line parts fiche as we could then check out the location and the necessary nuts/bolts etc.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

This is a pretty good price
Mopar Repair Parts PN#: 68164032AB - COVER-UREA SKID PLATE
35 bucks and I will be ordering one of these when I get back. I am hoping by the time I get back home someone has taken pics and has some info on how to install this.
I appreciate our member who found this skip plate because this is a show stopper if out and about and a branch decides to smack the injector....

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

I ordered one up. $35 is nothing to get a solid solution (although shipping was a rip!). I'll look to post up when it's here if no one else has.

It would be nice if Jeep would do a TSB and install these if it is what I think it is.
Great! Thanks for finding this! I am calling in order tomorrow!

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

I think that this might be the part number for the skid plate that protects the DEF tank in front of the rear bumper. I know that my ORA2 optioned Limited came with one installed from the factory, but I will be happy to order this part if it protects the DEF injector, hose and wiring. I believe that Jeep screwed the pooch by leaving these parts exposed and easily damaged by light off-roading and I wonder how they can justify sticking the "Trail Rated" badge on the front fender.

Looking at the schematic this appears to indeed be the part right in front of the rear bumper. Mine came with it in place. Not sure if this is the solution we are hoping for. Hope I am wrong.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Would still be interesting to know if this DEF skid-plate comes on every Diesel or only on those with ORAII...
