Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Those of us who ordered the first diesels remember the delays. One of the big delays was the lack of installation of the DEF tanks. They were built, but no planning was done to install the tanks. The installation WAS an afterthought. I am guessing the 2015 will have the DEF routed better, and hopefully Jeep will come up with a fix for the rest of us.

As far as DEF on delivery, your dealer is paid by Chrysler to fill the DEF tank. If your dealer refuses, have him check his PDI (prior to delivery) instructions, as it is printed right on there. If he still refuses, have him call his local Jeep rep, and the rep should inform the dealer that they have to fill the tank, as they are being paid to do so.

I would love to get or see a copy of the PDI check list. I was told by a couple of salesmen that they are not required to fill the tanks.

Never believe a salesperson. There is no need to negotiate DEF fill-up. Dealers are supposed to fill it and claim the cost similar to warranty labor. When you are ready for your vehicle delivery, print THIS CHRYSLER BULLETIN and take it with you to the dealership in case they need to "refresh" their memory.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Lookin' good dom. I don't have instagram, either, but just checked out on my daughter's ipad... I must be getting old. Is that aluminum or steel? Going to get it powder coated? Is your fabricator interested in a batch run for a group buy? If so, at what price point?

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

Its aluminum so no need for powder coat. But i can make it out of steal and powder it or whatever y'all want really. Im mot sure on the price yet as this is the prototype and takes time and messing around to make it work. Id say anywhere from $100-$200 with all hardware.

My fabricator will make me anything and as much as i want. He actually manufactures a lot of other things for me. So its not a problem.

Im gonna see if i can make another one here soon. I have another idea that is pretty trick and will make all of us feel warm and fuzzy.

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

ok i found a computer lol

so this is just a raw version. I gotta find more time to make a cleaner version. I dont really like using a toggle bolt for the side of frame in an existing hole, but it works, for now. Also i was going to use an existing bolt towards the front passenger side of the skid plate, but as i was taking it off i notice it was a body mount bolt as well as holding a what looked like to b a sub frame from the front end. Pretty crazy if u ask me. But yeah all bolts are either existing bolts/holes.

I have another idea that will run a skid plate all the way down the passenger side to really protect the line the whole way. that way u dont have to worry about re routing as well as when if u have to bring it to dealer for warranty if any

Re: Vulnerable DEF injector wiring!

That is a prototype for the DEF injector? I looked at the video looks to me like it does a good job of covering the entire area...
