Pretty sure he is correct. Most dealers do this but I do not think my spec sheet says "full tank of fuel" anywhere on it.

Well, I think he's right on the fuel (though he said they always add $30 of fuel to new vehicles). But somewhere Willx said, and even posted an image of the line item, that filling the urea tank was part of the PDI checklist.

My retort would be: You want final payment, I want a full tank of Diesel and a full tank of Urea. If you want me to take delivery of the vehicle without those conditions met, it costs you $1000 for me to fill the Urea, and $500 for every gallon below full of diesel.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Yeah, here's Willx's post that I was thinking of. I thought it was in this thread, so was having trouble finding it. Apparently it was in the diesel production thread.

They were PAID to do this!

Good to know... I must have missed that previously. Thanks!

I guess I would go with what Willx suggested earlier; ask to see a copy of the PDI. If the "top off all fluid"s page in the PDI specifically mentions topping off the DEF tank at the bottom of the page, then that's what I'll be pressing my dealer to do.

Got the official Response.....

"Chrysler will pay for an additional 2.5 Gallons of DEF Fluid during the PDI under warranty. It is up to the dealer to check the levels and add as needed as per the PDI instructions. Anything above the extra 2.5 Gallons is the dealer or customer responsibility"

BTW, had to remind my dealer too and then I asked about the PDI process. So basically, mine is about 90% full now with the alloted claimable amount. You guys that are getting yours with less than half a tank, clearly the dealer is not following the instructions.

Edit: I forgot to add, that my dealer did fill it completely as he said that it is their policy but we checked the levels based SOLELY on the PDI instructions and Parts claim allowances just to provide the baseline expectations..... If you drove away with a 1/4 tank of DEF fluid, that is just wrong.

Good to know. Going in Thursday and my salesman said they would fill the DEF tank. I'll post that result.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Diesel is too much of a learning curve for me. I hope they perfect an electric Grand Cherokee with a long extension cord ... with auto wind.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Just curious - what (if any) accessories are people getting with their SFU?

I've got a little extra room in the pre-approval to look at dealer adds. Really want to get a roof rack, but not sure about what the dealer carries vs. getting a Thule set.

I'd assume that floor mats don't come with...?

Thanks!
