Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Shopped around and bought all the necessary Oil Change parts (filter and oil) plus I bought a Fumoto Qwik Valve to install, which will make subsequent oil changes even easier!

After our long road trip, we'll have about 6k on the odo, so I'm going to do the first oil change then. Looks a piece of cake, with only a hose to remove to get at the oil filter cap plus I already have the necessary sockets and a torque wrench.

As far as costs go, it will cost me a total of $82.08 - $52.33 for the 8qts of Pennzoil and $28.75 for the Mopar filter.

I will also have peace of mind knowing it will be done properly .

Check out this thread

First oil change some info and comments

It's pretty straight forward. I changed mine once, and will probably need to do it again in 2-3 weeks. I've been getting my filters (have two of them sitting right here) from the link in that thread and the oil using Amazon Prime.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Well, I'm official. Signed papers today, even though the car isn't in my hands. It's on a train out in the desert, waiting to be delivered. My horror story starts with me having no less than six cars sold out from under me. Guess I picked a popular setup. Being in a major metro area, I figured I'd have no issue finding what I wanted. Boy was I wrong. In the end, it's all going to be ok.

On to the beauty -

2014 3.0 CRD Billet/Black ORA II LUXII and NAV. I'm a very happy camper, and can't wait to drive her home.

Even though I've been on JG a little while now, I'm proud to say that I'm now "OFFICIAL."

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Hi, I'm jumping in the middle of this current oil discussion to say that I picked up my new JGC Diesel. I got it on 3/22 and have 600 miles on it, and just LOVE it. Am very happy with the car. I got it from Stevens Creek in San Jose, for those familiar with the area.

It has been put to work early, because I rented a U-Haul auto transport trailer to tow my wife's car over the Santa Cruz mountains (pass elev = 1,700') to Bonny Doon. I took pictures of that. And, since I had the trailer anyway, I put my old car (2001 Honda CR-V) on the trailer for some pictures of that.

Going over the mountain pass (albeit only 1,700' this time) towing the car, the JGC barely broke a sweat. My wife, her dad, and I were impressed.

The dealer just called me and the 3 skid plates are in (x-fer case, fuel tank, front axle), so I'm going there on Friday to have those installed.

We LOVE that JGC!

Congrats! Hwy 17 used to be a nightmare - have they widened it yet? Haven't been up there in over 8 years. Still, it's a beautiful drive.

Thanks! 600 miles in 11 days, and I love it so far. It's going very well.

For 17, I don't think they've improved it much over the last 8 years. I used to live off of Summit Road and commute daily to Santa Clara, by motorcycle rain or shine or black ice, but that was 20 years ago. They do have a concrete separator between the north and south bound traffic lanes, and a bridge for the Bear Creek exit - they've had these things for several years now, not sure if that's in the last 8 years. Some improvements, anyway. But it's still a "fun" road, especially by motorcycle - the cars and trucks become pylons that you just slalom around.

Congrats on the new ride. This is my 5th jeep, and the first diesel. Hands down, this is the best one yet.

That's GREAT news! I just checked and mine still shows "Production Scheduled" as it has since the 21st of March. Logic would dictate that if we ordered about the same time and we went D1 about the same time that they would be built about the same time, right?

Well, OK, probably not. I've been watching ordered diesels since just before they started shipping. Jeep does not use obvious logic when building these things!

I have noticed though that those that went D1 between the 18th and 19th have been getting built lately. You were D1 on the 19th, I was D1 on the 21st. Hopefully that means mine will get built w/in a week.

My only hope of victory now is that you get held up in inspection, and trust me, I don't wish that on anyone! Hopefully everything goes smoothly and you're driving home in a couple weeks!! And maybe mine won't be too far behind!

Good luck, the race isn't over yet!!
