Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

So that TSB is now something the girl at the dealer referred to as a "silent recall" they are applying to every vehicle that comes in for any type of service...? They also applied an HVAC update of some sort but there is no code on the receipt.

I went ahead and reset the oil life indicator since it had only been 640 miles since last change and the indicator was at 75%. We shall see.

I probably drive 200 - 300 per week. I'm not commuting just running around...

In a couple weeks we are renting a 29' camper trailer for a week. I installed the P3 brake controller. Should be interesting.

Very cool, hope you have a great time... The SFU is the best towing vehicle I have ever driven (in this weight class)

I remember they were going to set you up with sway bars etc for an extra few bucks, did you go for that?

Yes, I think that is a standard part of the set up at this particular rental place.

I don't have a better place to put this and I don't want to start a thread on this either....

For those who's dealer's say "No DEF Fluid Top up is not included"

Ask them to type your VIN into the "New Vehicle Prep" in dealer connect. It produces a check list.... Guess what will be on it.

Havnt posted in awhile. My jeep had been great since I got the speed sensor issue taken care of. At about 6000 miles now and just did my first long drive (~500 miles) since the engine was broken in and it's not below 0 out. 99% hwy at 72mph with a fully loaded vehicle and the evic said 30.6 mpg. Very happy to see that. Hope you guys are seeing the same.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Thanks for the wealth of knowledge shared on this site. I pulled the trigger on a 14 Diesel Limited this week. Was able to negotiate a great deal under invoice with many free oil changes, all weather mats and other items included.

The U Connect system radio/audio worked but had a blank screen the day after I picked it up, dealer replacing it with new unit tomorrow. Hopefully that will be the end of that issue.

First trip was a mix of highway, in town, and stop/go traffic - still averaged 27.9 MPG. A good start. Much more to learn for sure

Looking forward to some great road trips and years of fun to come.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Wife and I are on a camping trip pulling a 29' rental camper trailer for the first time. So far am averaging 17 - 18 mpg, most of that on two-lane roads at 55mph slowing and sometimes stopping as we go through all the little towns along the way. The couple we are traveling with have a Grand Cherokee with the hemi. He is getting about 10mpg pulling a 24' trailer, although I think his is slightly heavier than ours. He has to stop for fuel about every 150 miles, I'm going nearly 3x that amount. Although it helps to have the 24 gal tank vs 18 on his rig, I think this speaks volumes as to the combination of the diesel and 8-speed tranny.
