I have not drove the VW so I can't compare the turbo lag. Comparing the '07 to the '14 if night and day different. The '07 had nut only turbo lag but a programmed throttle lag that was a dead spot from a complete stop. The '14 moves when you nail it. I would say if you were drag racing a hemi from a light the hemi might jump a half car on you before the turbo fully spooled up.

I like the floor mat in the Summit. Is that a padded area towards the front?

Yes, I just took delivery like an hour and change ago, that was from the dealer lot. I have Weathertechs coming, I will probably use the standard Mats in the Summer though.

i like the carpeted ones for summer. Plan to do the Mopar slush mats for winter. Undecided on the cargo area. I bought my girlfriend Mopar slush mats for all areas. I like them.

If you get the weathertechs and you think they feel too much like plastic, and don't like them, see if you can return them and get the Husky X-act fit. Same as weathertech, but more rubber like.
If you do like the weathertechs, disregard my comment. Either way, CONGRATS on the new ride. Looks awesome. Surprised you are posting less than an hour after delivery. It will be hard to get me out of my Jeep for the first few days

Congratulations Willx! I looks great.

Just remember ... it takes diesel fuel.

I went to store and seen the husky mats but they didn't have the X-act fit. I didn't like the ones that were a level down from that. I did want more rubbery however the weathertech served me well in prior vehicles. When you get your mats please take photos. I am interested.

Shannon,
If you can spare a half day after delivery, we can hand wash, clay, and wax your Jeep before it gets out of Texas, weather permitting.

My HEMI has the same annoying half second delay when hammering it from a stop, more pronounced in ECO mode. Curious if your slight lag is similar throttle mapping rather than the engine. Is the lag lesser when you have ECO off or in sport mode?

(My actual curiosity is because I really wanted to keep waiting for a unicorn and gave up ... but now that you guys are finally getting yours I'm jealous!! )

I've been considering the same thing, Vtail. Do you have any experience with Xpel? From what I've read it sounds like the second coming, but I don't know anyone who's had it for more than a few months.

Also, if you don't mind, what are you getting quoted for it? It's NOT a cheap thing from our local guys, but they're a high end detail shop.

I'm also going to make sure the dealership doesn't wash mine when she shows up. I'd rather have it detailed right off the bat to get it 100% and don't want to start with any scratches. It's a bit of overkill, especially considering she'll see eight straight months of rain, but I like to start off on the right foot.
