ps. I think you really need a plate bracket/frame, as without it, the plate will get all bent up (experience talking here).

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

It's a shame to blemish that beautiful front end with an ugly license plate. Blech. I tend to agree with the others, having the dealer do it is the best bet. Get a bracket to keep it from getting more ugly

I'll be slipping this into them until I get my real plates:

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Willx or anyone else that is getting a Summit with the brown interior, did you go with the Husky floor mats? Could you post pictures of the black mats with the brown interior just to give us an idea how they look? And thought if Husky will ever make these in the brown?

CT requires front plate too. I would insist on having the dealer install an OEM Mopar bracket. I would never attach the plate directly to the facia.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Hmm, I would think they would come with them from the factory if your state required it. I checked my build sheet and noticed this:

MDAP Front License Plate Bracket

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

As most have said, I'd have the dealer do it.

WA is a "Front plate required" state as well. The Dealer had already installed the front plate thing on my Durango before I got there (but no stickers or other assorted crap!).

I'd be worried I'd screw up and take out something behind the bumper (or worse, didn't get it juuuust right). Atleast this way, if they screw up, they get to pay to fix it... not you.

Damn man... that's freaking gorgeous.

Yours is a sister to mine (exact same package and coloring).

Pretty sure mine is slogging up the foothills of the Rockies by now (I refuse to check MOTS... it will only drive me nuts).

OMG... I HATE these Forteras. They are on my Durango right now and cannot get them off of there fast enough. They do ride better and feel more sturdy on the Durango than they ever did on my 09 JGC, but still pretty tricky in standing water.

As I was saying prior, I think it is a lot about personal taste. I have had excellent luck with the Michelin tires and if you are going to do some off roading, I think you made a great choice. The LTX M/S has actually gotten even more car like in the most recent revision (the M/S 2) so the AT is likely the better choice from what you are saying.
Michelin LTX A/T 2 are going on the Unicorn after the snowfall melts (Studded Goodyear Ultra Grip WRT's are going on once it arrives here.. they are actually waiting at the tire shop now all mounted and balanced).

I'll probably have some mudflaps added to the Unicorn to keep the gravel rash from the A/T 2's in check.

Michelin M/S2 will be going on the Durango in the Spring (same set of studded Goodyear winter tires as the Unicorn for the Winter).

Good catch! Just looked at my build sheet and it's there. I had nightmares of a sweaty service shop guy drilling two giant ugly holes into my unicorn's front facia.

I actually have been all over the MAP with Mats... The Beige Weathertechs I ordered were backordered, so then I wanted to order the X-ACT fit Husky's. The Dealer then told me that Mopar was now making a Molded Mat, and it was Heavy Rubber. It is Black, he ordered in a Set and they should be there today.

I have no obligation to take them, and he said I can check them out in the truck first. So I will grab them and take some pictures whether I decide to take them or not (like the Husky X-ACT Fit, they only come in Black).

Looks Great Shannon!!!

I would let the dealer put the plate on. It is actually a decent looking bracket (not chunky like some of them). There are dimples in the bumper to make sure it is in the right place but Seriously it is something you wouldn't want to stress about. I couldn't take a drill to my Unicorn, even though I am good with a drill

There are two dimples in the fascia where the holes need to be drilled. So hopefully everyone that require front plates will have little or no trouble in centering the plate frame and bracket.
