They came in yesterday and I'm really satisfied with the quality and fit. The material is substantial, rubbery and very pliable. Front mats have "Grand Cherokee" molded across the center of the mat, the rear has "Jeep" across the hump and the cargo mat has no logo at all. As others have said the DEF tank was only a third full when I picked it up although I didn't realize it until I learned how to use EVIC. I called back to the dealership and the sales mgr said "Sure, we'll fill it up"; but the Service Dept said "we will fill it up if asked". Anyway, they put in 5 gals. I also went through the first tank of fuel and averaged 26 miles per gallon. Just want to say that I love this ride. It's really a hoot to drive with all that torque. You folks waiting on your new diesels are in for a treat!
I can hardly wait to get mine. Maybe by this weekend, we'll see. Glad to see the mpg's are good. With diesel at a $0.70 premium in our area this time of year, which makes it nearly 25% more expensive than regular unleaded, most people will say the extra cost of the Diesel engine isn't justified, as you're going to come out about even on the fuel cost at this price delta between regular unleaded and diesel. So it's great to hear that diesel isn't just about saving fuel, but about the exhilaration of the ride as well (not to mention towing, high altitude performance, greener, resale value, etc.)

As others have said... I compare the price to Premium. All the vehicles I looked at either required Premium or suggested using it...Thus with gas at 2.79 (10% ethanol Sioux Falls) It would not have been in the picture ...Enjoy the ride! I am still impatient waiting for off load in Council Bluff. All of us made a good decision...but the wait from August has been...

Well had I not gone the diesel route I would have bought the hemi, so I usually compare it to that. But understand what you saying, all the other luxury brands would require premium. And I don't look at it like I have to make up the difference in price for the diesel engine vs the gas since resale will make up the majority of that difference anyway. So as long as it's not really costing me more to drive the diesel, I'm ok with a little more during the winter months when I know I'll make it back in the summer when we're going to do more driving. Plus if I can go twice as far as the gas version on each tank, that makes a big difference when it's 2 degrees out with 30 mile winds and you're standing out there twice a week to fill that bad boy up....just my thoughts

The fact that it has a range of 600-700 miles is amazing...That point was important to me! 300+ miles and half the tank still available...Priceless!

I invision a cost savings due to the range. I often need to buy fuel in remote towns that have inflated prices. I should be able to avoid that more often with the new CRD.

An unrecognized economical savings that I knew with my prior Diesels. You get to know where it is cheaper to buy the fuel and plan further ahead because of the amazing range!

Egad. You'd think an outline of a peeing statue would signify "you need more urea" than that one does.

At least that's how I interpreted it.

You won't always have to wait 5 mins before shutdown, only when towing a heavy load.
I take it the turbo doesn't have an electric pump to run oil thru it after shutdown like more modern turbos do.

The turbocharger is water-cooled, so the water is circulated through the radiator to cool it.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

True most modern turbos run coolant through until the temps drop to an acceptable level. My BMW 335 does exactly that...

Is this is one of the reasons the cooling fan can keep running after the engine is shut down, or is coolant only circulated by an engine driven pump?
