Just picked it up today and loving it so far. No noticeable issues other than a little light fogging.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Can someone educate me as a rookie...
Need to worry about "the turbos when you turn off Eco diesel"
What do I do? Count to 5 or what.
Is this a true concern?
Thanks for help.

Pilot adheres to ISO and ASE standards. Keep in mind that the EPA and manufactures require 32.5% urea with distilled water and low impurities. The pump facilities service commercial rigs and would face large issues if they sold non-compliant DEF.

In the diesel supplement it details the timeframe needed to let the turbo cool down. In most light use situations, its a couple minutes, can be a couple more if you are towing or have a heavy load.

In the typical driving I'll be doing the manual says a minute or less. By the time I come down the drive and pull into the garage that will satisfy that recommendation in my opinion. As another member pointed out, there are usually a couple things you do in the car before getting out (putting away glasses, taking off seat belt, etc), just make turning it off the last one. They (Chrysler) want to make sure the turbo is cool, so if you aren't pushing it prior to turning it off there isn't a problem. And remember that the turbo is water cooled so that helps too. I wouldn't worry about it unless you've been driving hard (like off roading) or towing, then I would give it a couple minutes to cool down. See myth #7 and just use some common sense:
http://www.bankspower.com/techarticl...fact-&-fiction
Also interesting to note that my wife drives a 2009 Jetta TDI and nobody (ie. Dealer) ever mentioned this, so it isn't something we've worried about.

Update on my DEF gauge showing empty. It seems to occur on remote start. After a non-remote start it displays properly. Anybody else seeing this?

Sounds like a future firmware update. If it continues and is repeatable I'd make sure customer service and/or the dealer escalates to engineering for a fix.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Few pics from delivery. Have an issue with the lift gate handle that needs to be addressed and a small scratch on the back drivers side door sill that the dealer is going to repaint. They said they will put me in another summit, non diesel, which is fine, give me an idea of how the v6 would do as far mileage compared to the diesel.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to making up this site. It was a long wait and frustrating at times but on the flip side, there were many laughs. Looking forward to growing a bit older with you all and seeing where this new line in the Jeep family takes us. Will, Milous, chevy, marlon and Scott, special thanks for the extra effort you guys put into keep us in the loop as best you can.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I picked up my white Summit diesel last night. White with brown interior. I'm so far BLOWN AWAY by the engine, testdrove the hemi some time ago and this thing blows it out of the water, the immediate torque, the sound, the smoothness... Even my wife noticed that in passenger seat.

I'll post full review in the review thread, but had no issues during inspection. Fit and finish was great, none of the misalignment issues that some other people mentioned.

Only three minor things:
- Urea tank was only half full and dealer had no Urea on hand... They ordered it and will top off
- I noticed the headlights fog a little, but I guess this is normal?
- When I crank up the sound system really loud (like all the way) there's some rattle inside the B pillar on drivers side. Dealer said they will check it and fix, but I'll wait till the oil change

Loving this thing so far

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I was just wondering what people are using on the natura plus leather? From what I can gather it is engineered leather? My 2006 commander had the saddle brown leather and the bolster started cracking after the first year (I was PISSED).. I do not want a reoccurrence of this!!! especially on a 50K$ car. remember someone posting about the chemical guys, would this product be recommended on the natura, or should I not put anything on it?

My Limited has the air suspension. I set the suspension to lower automatically at exit, which takes 10-15 seconds. I simply wait until the EVIC informs me that exit/entry is complete before turning the engine off, allowing a brief turbo cooling for normal driving.
