What did you do about the spare tire? The factory spare is a smaller diameter than 265/65-18.

And the reason it's used is not a cost cutting thing, rather a durability thing. Bc Natura Plus is actually more expensive. Which is why it's only used in the Summit. The common theme in the industry is that "real" leather isn't good enough anymore. Natura Plus will outlast the Nappa used it the Overlands. Testing was done which proves this. You'll hear more of the trend shift in the coming years.
Whether or not this is true, it is extremely deceptive to call something "leather" when it is not, in fact, made of leather.

"I see you have come in to fill your prescription for penicillin. Your insurance company authorized us to fulfill your order using Penicillin Plus instead! We won't be mentioning it is made from kitty litter and 0% penicillin, and we won't bother putting a (tm) anywhere for you to realize you should suspect us for deceiving the hell out of you."

This has really soured me on my Summit order.

If some material is superior to leather, then sell it as such. Don't try to f&*^ing deceive me. Sorry I wasn't cynical enough to ask a salesperson, "Hey, when you say something is made of leather, do you actually mean that it's NOT MADE OF LEATHER?!"

I guess I also forgot to ask if "4x4" actually means RWD-only at Jeep.

Whatever the material is in the Summit, it's awesome, you want be disappointed. Everyone gotten in has said, "man this leather is so soft"

Thank you for sharing some optimism.

However, I will be intrinsically unable to avoid correcting people to point out that the material is pleather instead. Also, I will forever be incensed by any film that builds up on the interior windshield; whether or not it is due to the pleather in the Jeep, the pleather will be assigned the blame.

"Hi, this is my $50k vehicle. Like the pleather? Apparently, it's supposed to be so much better & more expensive than actual leather... but they had to trick people into buying it. No, I swear the emperor is *not* naked!"

Nothing. The differentials will handle it. I do not intend to do a five wheel rotation and the spare is only to get me to a repair shop.

Like I said, use the search button. This has already been discussed at length.

I'm gonna go ahead and ignore the rest of your post bc the false equivalency and sarcasm just aren't worth my time.

Very nice! I originally ordered those exact tires then I began worrying about the speedo, gas mileage and potential warranty issues so I sent them back and I'm waiting on the 265/60/18s now.

I really wish Jeep would "bless" upsizing tires on the JGC similarly to what they do with the wranglers. I talked to 3 dealers in the area and all said they couldn't re calibrate for up sized tires on the JGC and if I had any transfer case or power train issues Jeep may not cover it if they attribute it to the tires.

Surprising given Jeep's core demographic and heritage!

Regardless, would love to hear your thoughts on the tires. How do they ride? Noisier than the Latitudes?

My anger is really directed toward Jeep, not you.

I did my due diligence. Jeep should have disclosed this lie, rather than forcing someone to read page 360 of a thread in a subforum of JeepGarage.org (thank you, yes, I *did* search before posting my original reply to you) to find out that "leather" means "not leather" according to Jeep.

Truly, the false equivalency here is calling something leather that is NOT leather. It's not even *derived* from leather... this is 0% animal skin pleather being sold as leather.

If, somehow, I missed the truth in advertising disclosure on Jeep.com where they explain their lie about the leather, then by all means I will feel I share some of the blame for being deceived.

Otherwise, where do we draw the line with them? What else did they lie about? Which terms did they unilaterally redefine without telling us? Does 4x4 still mean "at least capable of four-wheel drive" according to Jeep? Does a "year" mean 365 Earth days for warranty purposes according to Jeep?

Did you? Have you checked the jeep.com web site? They clearly disclose that the Summit has "Natura Plus leather", not genuine leather. Googling "natura leather" will bring you to the product web site on 1st hit, and the 2014 JGC interior page 2nd. I fail to see the deception.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Leather or not, I wish I had it on my Overland! I love the leather in my overland, but durability is certainly desirable, and if it FEELS better, I don't see any substantive reason to complain.

Natura leather is a brand name from the company that manufactures it is not a name that jeep came up with. I understand your frustration as it is somewhat misleading, but I actually wish it was offer as an option on the overland. Natura feels like leather but without the drawback of leather. Years from now your seats will still look new, while ours will start cracking, fading and wrinkling.
