That is the picture I was looking for, and mine clearly isn't there. Will be a pain I think getting it now that it wasn't installed at build time as there doesn't seem to be a part number for it that anyone can find.

Brainstormer's is a Limited. Maybe a Summit is different (unlikely). Did you order it and is it on your build list? (Just curious. I am trying to add it to my order but it may be too late.)

Thanks for the info. I'll go through the thread. I'm running Android 4.1.2 which appears to be the current version for the Galaxy S3 and not sure where I find the version of Uconnect unless it comes up on the startup splash screen.

4.1.2 should work fine for the phonebook. Try to upgrade Uconnect. The instructions and PDF in the thread I had above will show you how to find the current firmware version you have.

There is a selection on the screen labeled something like "System Information" that has the uconnect level. (I found it doing a test drive last week.)

I tried the Uconnect upgrade process and got no further than installing the Akamai download session manager. It said it finished the install of the download manager and then supposedly the actual update download is supposed to start, but nothing happens. So far haven't even been able to download the update to my PC. Not very good for a former IT guy.....

Congratulations!

Did you try what I suggested? I go through a lot of both cars and phones and install custom roms on the latter regularly which the car sees as a new phone. This has me pairing "new"phones on multiple cars every few weeks. The phone book thing isn't unusual and I've ran into it a number of times. While it doesn't always work starting over from scratch often does and only takes a minute. On older android versions you used to have to reboot, possibly various carrier versions as well.

This isn't to say you shouldn't install the uconnect update but you already know that. For what it's worth the boss was able to upload and dial out on a 14 summit at the dealer and she has an international unlocked S3.

Try downloading it from the thread links. Willx posted the downloads on mega.

Also still can't get phonebook to download to Uconnect from my Galaxy S3. This is a hugely popular phone, but maybe it just doesn't work with this phone. The website lists S4 but not S3. It asks the phone for a "contact request", I hit OK, but nothing happens. It keeps doing this over and over. I may have to just manually put in the 1/2 dozen phones I call frequently.

The other thing I don't like is that every time I start the car and the phone pairs, it starts playing music from the phone even if I had previously turned off the music on the phone. Kind of a nuisance.

You'd think an old IT guy could get this stuff to work. Everything else on the car seems to be working great.
Well this is getting scary, same car, same phone. As others have already said, once you get uconnect updated you should be able to get the phone book to connect. The only thing I didn't get working was messaging, but didn't mess with it much as I don't really text but will look again next weekend. I downloaded from Willx's link, extracted it to a usb stick and just followed the directions. Took about 10 minutes, no issues.

Uconnect: I have a flash drive with the software if you have a problem downloading.
Heater cord: Shouldn't be any difference in location since it is the same engine in both models. Passenger side - towards the rear. Here is a picture. I put a red star on the cord.
