Vitality, mine was in the same area as the above picture, however, it took me forever to find it. Mine was about half way down from motor. I had to use a flashlight to find it. They have the cord tied off with a little Velcro strap. I ended up using a zip tie to hold the cord at the top level, so it is easy to get to whenn needed.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

What are the chances the dealer can't find the key from when the truck driver unloaded it?

Got my SFU in 2 days early! Love everything about it. Only found a couple issues: 1) tailgate isn't flush - but apparently they can't fix it. 2) found a paint bubble above one of the taillights - it will be fixed. 3) drivers door isn't flush - that will also be fixed.

I'll look it over in the daylight tomorrow to see if there are any other issues. Read through the entire manual tonight and learned a lot.

Hope everyone else is enjoying theirs as much as I am mine. Definitely worth the wait! I hope those waiting don't have to wait much longer!

While it doesn't always work starting over from scratch often does and only takes a minute. On older android versions you used to have to reboot, possibly various carrier versions as well. This isn't to say you shouldn't install the uconnect update but you already know that. For what it's worth the boss was able to upload and dial out on a 14 summit at the dealer and she has an international unlocked S3.
if you are referring to removing then re-adding the phone, yes. I didn't try a phone reboot in between. I suppose I could try that as well.

Thanks, Shannon, but still "no joy" (that's flying lingo for 'I still don't see the airplane you are telling me to look for') even with the Where's Waldo picture you provided. I've looked multiple times and have concluded the block heater cord/plug just isn't there. I sent an email to the dealer for next steps.

Was able to download the Uconnect update from the direct links and get it installed in the car, and now the phonebook was able to download. This is more like setting up a new computer system than driving a car:-)

Thanks to all the great help on this forum for getting this stuff all squared away. What a terrific resource you all are!

Also still can't get phonebook to download to Uconnect from my Galaxy S3. This is a hugely popular phone, but maybe it just doesn't work with this phone. The website lists S4 but not S3. It asks the phone for a "contact request", I hit OK, but nothing happens. It keeps doing this over and over. I may have to just manually put in the 1/2 dozen phones I call frequently.

The other thing I don't like is that every time I start the car and the phone pairs, it starts playing music from the phone even if I had previously turned off the music on the phone. Kind of a nuisance.

You'd think an old IT guy could get this stuff to work. Everything else on the car seems to be working great.

Picked up jeep diesel last night... 14 miles on her and only up to 100 now! Lots to learn but very intuitive... Must be an Apple! Lights do have moisture but they are amazing...auto dim fantastic! Mileage not yet...too much at idle..it is a no no but it just happened. Paired a 4s and a galaxy III (wife is not an apple) with phonebook... Cool! I have owned new suburbans...this is better but missing 3 row and did I say it is a diesel! I am learning to drive with a soft touch..otherwise the girl would launch me into the next county! Lots of power! I found the cord for block heater ...the picture was a big help!

The only item it needs is tow or recovery hooks..I know it is a mall driving Summit but my wife can get stuck on an oil road...oh that's me stuck! LOL

I will report more as I get miles on her...overall I am in love with a Jeep!

If you can't make up your mind as to buy or not...you have wasted too much time...it is great and it is a diesel!

I took the truck down one of my favorite motorcycle roads and I got solid handling in the twistys... no roll, no squeal, no slipping. VERY nice. Then did some highway time on the tires as well... In the words of the immortal Sgt Schultz, "I hear nothing!" Very quiet... no road noise above normal wind sounds. I swear they are as quiet as the stock tires. HIGHLY recommend these at this point. If they perform as well off road as they do on (and I have some reason to believe they will) then they are a great tire for this truck. I will have to take another pic with the new tires to replace my sigpic...
Getting mine put on now! Will report back. I went back and forth on it and decided to just to stick w/ the stock size.

Typical rantings of a new Jeep lover. I can't agree more!! I'm having such a blast just playing with all the technology and customizing everything. I was up at 5am downloading the new Uconnect update and installing it. Oh and did I mention how much fun it is to drive?

After my first uConnect update, which said that all installed well, the VR stopped working with the Nav and unless the heat was set on Hi the auto setting on the climate control would only blow cold air out of the front vents. After reinstalling the same software a second time, these problems went away. Just an FYI and wondering if anyone else had the same prob.

PS: My Block heater cord is immediately behind the passengers side fuse/relay box. I had trouble finding it also as the cord was tied up and looked flimsier than what I was looking for. Went in with a flashlight and found it.

PPS: You will want to look at Willix's trailering thread on how to take the hitch cover off. There is a trick to it. Look at the last pictures. 2014 JGC Brake Controller DIY
