The saga continues...

The dealer ordered a new door handle and it finally got in yesterday. He tried to install it today and discovered that... the door frame is warped where the handle is attached which is why it can not be properly attached. It will need to go to the body shop on Monday. I'm beyond mad. How can a $60K vehicle roll off production (with the 100% famous inspection) with a warped sheet metal defect that is absolutely visible during final visual inspection, and still pass everything and end up needing a repair in a dealer's body shop?

Shannon, thanks!
My dealer must not have known this material was in the glove box. Another lesson learned from the knowledge bank behind this forum.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

So picked up our SFU wed, had Pro-tect film installed and drove it home from Las Vegas to the central coast of Cali. 28mpg doing 75! Got home around 8pm and stayed up playing with the settings/gadgets. I'm trying to sinc the individual key fobs to the seat/wheel/mirror memory for my wife's and for mine but the manual is relatively confusing. Has anyone been able do this and have some tips?

It works fine for me. You should follow the owner's manual (not owner's guide) on page 161 (rev 5). The process involves first programming the memory (either 1 or 2), then linking a specific keyfob to a memory preset:

A. Program a memory preset:
1. Press the START/STOP button twice to the RUN position WITHOUT pressing on the break.
2. Adjust your Jeep's features for liking (seats, wheel, presets etc...).
3. Press the S button on the driver's door and release.
4. Within 5 seconds press and release either button 1 or 2.

This stored your preferences in memory. You can recall them by pressing buttons 1 or 2 anytime.

B. Now you might want to link one of your keyfobs to a memory preset:
1. Sit in your Jeep's driver seat with the doors closed and the keyfob you want to link in your hand.
2. Make sure your Jeep START/STOP mode is OFF!!!
3. Recall the memory preset you want to link by pressing and releasing either button 1 or 2.
4. Press the S button and release.
5. Within 10 seconds, press and release the LOCK button on your keyfob.

To test, move the driver seat position around so it will not match the preset setting, then press the UNLOCK keyfob button. The seat will move back to its preset position.

I didn't see anything about it in the manual but I've already seen quite a lot of things mentioned here that I missed when perusing the various tomes.
According to the owners manual, "The “Oil Change Required” message will flash in the EVIC display for approximately 10 seconds after a single chime has sounded, to indicate the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate, dependent upon your personal driving style."

That's similar to the two BMWs and one Mercedes Benz we've owned. Your oil change interval depends on how you drive and your driving conditions.

My style is fairly conservative: no hard acceleration, and mostly driving in Eco Mode with about half my miles on the freeway and the other half on secondary roads.

Oil change required is not the same as oil life in the EVIC and it might be that the two are not synchronized with each other.

I think I'll abide by the oil change required message and hope the oil life indicator is wrong and gets a software update. How could my oil life have been down to 94% with only 14 miles at delivery?

Thanks! there was something about going into Uconnect and selecting sync to fob or something and I just couldn't find it on the screen. Guess that's not what it needed.

Haha, noticed that as well. Figured it was Milous' subtle humor coming through

Found this handy guide to use the Voice Recognition (VR) features of Uconnect:
http://www.driveuconnect.com/pdf/Uco...oiceCmd_V2.pdf
Wish I could turn the heated seats and steering wheel on/off with VR, but that isn't supported. Oh well, lots of other features are.
