I was thinking of using the Rustoleum Never wet, but changed my mind after reading the reviews on Amazon. Sounds like it will leave a white film on anything black - which our wheels wells are, and that it only works for a short time. Very bad reviews, so I am going to rule this one out. I am wondering about a wax. Any other ideas? Any input would be appreciated. Also, any Guinea pigs please post what you did, and how it works.

3. Recall the memory preset you want to link by pressing and releasing either button 1 or 2.
4. Press the S button and release.
5. Within 10 seconds, press and release the LOCK button on your keyfob.

To test, move the driver seat position around so it will not match the preset setting, then press the UNLOCK keyfob button. The seat will move back to its preset position.
This is different to the procedure on the owners manual, you step 4 is different. You have listed to press S, then lock on the key fob.
The manual says to press S, the the seat position then lock on key fob:

To program your RKE transmitters, perform the following:
1. Remove the Key Fob from the ignition (or change the ignition to OFF, for vehicles equipped with Keyless Enter-N-GoTM).

2. Select desired memory profile (1) or (2).

3. Once the profile has been recalled, press and release the SET (S) button on the memory switch, then press and release button (1) or (2) accordingly. “Memory Profile Set” (1 or 2) will display in the instrument cluster on vehicles equipped with the EVIC.

4. Press and release the LOCK button on the RKE transmitter within 10 seconds.

Either way, it will not work for me to program one of my keys to position 1.
I managed to program one key to position 2, but I wasn't even trying so I am not sure what I did exactly.

I have tried so many variations, car in ACC/RUN/ON and OFF mode. Press S and the number, just press S, etc.... and can't get the key to program.
Maybe the Key has an issue.
Easy Exit option is also turned on as is Program Key FOB of course.

I finally got the fob connected to position 1... but like you I did so many things I'm not sure exactly what worked. I think is was ignition off, S, 1, lock button.

Didi that, no go.
Just did a Uconnect reboot, no difference, Uconnect reset, no difference, and didn't effect memory presets.

I can't un program the key I have to see if I can re program it to position 1.
That could be a confirmation that it's a key issue.

I have the exact same issue. Can program position 2 but not position 1. Very strange.

Just wondering what are "shade shoes"? Or did you mean suede shoes?

If that's what you mean is there any particular brand you would recommend?

Thanks.

Thanks for the oil change info Milous. I haven't changed oil in my vehicles for a long time but I want to start back with my 2014 4X4 Limited Turbodiesel. Do you have info on what it takes to get the oil filter housing cap off? Are we talking a specific cap wrench or what? I'll resist taking the Channel Locks to it for now.

Took a 303 mile trip on highways (not freeways) with speed limits varying from 35 mph in small towns to 65 mph between towns. Now showing 683 miles and 84% oil life remaining.

So oil life fell from 100% (assuming it was ever 100%) before delivery to 86% in 303 miles, and has only fallen another 2% in the next 380 highway miles.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Here are pictures of the Key Fob cover that I just had delivered from Amazon. I bought this after the truck started from the start button accidentally being pressed twice while in my pocket. I still set panic alarms off every now and then with my other fob, I just don't like the idea of being able to start the vehicle by accident in the garage or open the trunk by accident in a parking lot. The first could be dangerous to a child in a garage and the second would allow someone into your truck while you aren't aware that the trunk is open.

Amazon.com: iJDMTOY 3D Carbon Fiber Pattern Genuine Premium Leather Remote Smart Key Holder FOB (2.8" x 1.9"): Automotive

Pluses:
-It seems as though this fob cover will prevent starting the truck by accident from a pocket push.
-It is large enough to fit the fob
-It has a separate key chain attachment so you don't have to hand your house keys to a valet.

negatives:
-Slightly larger than I would have liked. Although, I don't think that a smaller one would fit the fob as it is pretty large. To get something with a sleeker fit, I think it would take a custom fob cover. I wish Jeep would make one.
-My wife thinks that it has a nerd look to it. Although, she thinks that about many of the things that I wear and use.
-V-Tail ordered a different type and design of cover. He may like his more. Anyway, the photos are below.

On my 300+ mile trip today on backroad highways my CRD averaged 29.3 MPG. Pretty impressive.
