But you'll definitely want to put them in plastic bags in those locations. I'm not surprised Jeep makes you request these manuals if you want hard copies considering their size and heft.

However, he is saying that the distance the rear driver's door extends beyond the body, about 3/16", falls within Jeep/Chrysler's dimensional limit specs for gaps/flush fits. Says the same for the Liftgate which extends beyond the body about 3X further on the driver's side, 0.108", than on the passenger side, 0.040". Ditto for the variance in the gaps between the body taillamp and lift gate taillamp assemblies, 0.187" on driver's side vs 0.110" on passenger side.

I was given a copy of the dimensional specification that I will scan and post after I've had a chance to compare my measurements with the specs.
I found a similar problem on ours, but on rear passenger doors.
Also I picked ours at night and with bad weather outside, so back to the dealer after Thanksgiving weekend with couple of problems.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Please help! I would like to order the Protective Jacket, however I don't have my GC yet and when I go on the web site and look at the Eight different protective covers they have, not one lists the 2014 GC.
Could you give me their p# or style number that will fit the fobs.
Thanks.

Anyone else not get their key fob PIN from the dealer at delivery?

From the owner's manual:

"At the time of purchase, the original owner is provided with a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). Keep the PIN in a secure location. This number is required for authorized dealer replacement of Key Fobs. Duplication of Key Fobs may be performed at an autho- rized dealer. This procedure consists of programming a blank Key Fob to the vehicle electronics. A blank Key Fob is one that has never been programmed."

When I asked for the PIN my dealer told me they've never heard of this and replacement key fobs are programmed according to the VIN. Based on my dealership's general lack of knowledge about the vehicle, I tend not to believe them.

Definitely. I think I'm going to store them in the plastic bins by the spare though. I like the door pockets for things I use regularly.

I just went through all my paperwork. I could not find anything for replacement fob. I remember seeing a card with a pin for my WK. Perhaps that's old tech for vehicles with ignition "key's".

The website says they are for Dodge, but they are the exact fit for the 2014 JGC

No, and I was wondering the same thing.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Just noticed that Jeep has posted the 4th edition of the 2014 JGC User Guide on the Jeep.com website. I downloaded it but haven't compared it to the 3rd edition, but I did notice the new version is 212 pages compared to 196 for the old version.

New member here. Been following this thread for what seems like forever. I've been waiting for a diesel SUV since VW first came out with the V10 Touareg. Unfortunately that vehicle never got CARB certified and I live in So Cal so I was SOL. Then when they announced the new TDI would be 50 state legal I was very excited only to find out later the US version had been neutered of all its off road capabilities. Along comes Jeep to save the day! Picked up a trail rated silver Overland (diesel, of course) off the dealer lot this past weekend. Traded in a Toyota 4runner Trail edition, which was a great car, but the Jeep is soooo much nicer. Fit and finish on my car was great. So far I love it!

As for the key fob PIN number I was fortunate enough to have a sales woman at my dealership (in Monrovia, CA) go over a bunch of details about the car. One of which was the key fob pin. You should have received your extra key in a ziplock bag to which is affixed a white sticker with 2 bar codes and your PIN number. Had she not explained the importance of this sticker I would have thrown the thing in the trash.

Sorry for the long winded first post.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new Overland. When I took delivery both my key fobs were in the cup holders in the center console. No sign of any zip lock bag with barcodes. The dealer probably must have tossed it out.

Wonderful.
