My DEF gauge did something weird...my truck was filled 100% with DEF when I picked it up so that was fine; then about a week and 1000 miles later the gauge still showed 100% but the arc bar graph disappeared from the gauge for several starts. I cycled through the settings and all but that didn't bring it back it came back after a start up.. I thought that was weird the bars disappearing but I guess it was just a fluke...odd though
My Limited has the ORA II and only has the "Trail Rated" badge on the driver's side.

At 950 miles, my DEF gauge is still showing 100 percent as well. Haven't noticed the arc bar graph, but even at delivery when the digital display showed 100 percent the arc did not extend all the way across.

Are you slipping? I can't believe that I found an article before you. Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Grand Cherokee Service Bulletins and Recalls lists all of the TSBs for recent JGCs. Willx posted the info some weeks back on a different thread. From what I am getting reading the threads, there are all sorts of updates out there and the dealers do not always automatically do all of them just because you bring your truck in. Apparently, for some dealers you have to specify the problem.

This TSB is simply the Uconnect update to 13.38.52 (see step 8). AFAIK Vtail already updated the firmware himself.

Vtail, you can find many TSB's in the wk2jeeps TSB page.

Didn't even read it through, thanks. Dealer did tell me that there are some software updates that only they can do. However, this does not appear to be one of them.

First short road trip in the new Jeep this evening. Snowing like crazy and my SO has a concert 70 miles from home. Good excuse to exercise the SFU. I reset the EVIC mpg readout and when we got here it showed 32.5mpg. After cruising through town, stopping at Wendy's for some cuisine, by the time we got to the concert venue it was reading 31.5mpg. I'm impressed, especially considering the road conditions and the slow traffic in some places. It probably helped that I don't think I went over 55mph.

Also noticed a few interesting things. I got a warning that the ACC/FCW weren't available and to wipe off the radar sensor. I assume it was covered with slop/slush. When driving through town my left forward proximity sensor bleeped red a few times. I am guessing that had some slush on it as well. The other thing was I had the wipers on a slow intermittent setting, then every once in a while they'd go fast for a few swipes across the windshield, then back to intermittent. Automatic rain sensor wiper kicking in? Oh, one more thing. When I started the trip I put the Select Terrain in Snow mode. I noticed the tranny never went higher than 7th gear. Put it in Auto after a while and then it went into 8th. I didn't realize those settings apparently limit the speed or at least the allowed tranny gear. I'm guessing from this experience that Snow mode isn't for roads that are relatively clear but more for going through deeper snow?

Glad I have my iPad and wifi while I sit here for a few hours, then get to drive back home...

From some research I did on the net this sounds like hogwash. It looks like the module that holds the key-fob programming is locked with a PIN, so even with the dealer scanner tool, you still need a PIN to unlock that security zone. I'm going to call Customer Care on Monday and find out Chrysler's stance on it. From what I read on the net, a copy of the PIN is available also on the original dealer invoice, and with the Chrysler regional manager. A more sinister theory I think of is that by not giving me the PIN, only that dealership can program a keyfob (they have the PIN on the invoice) which gives them a service advantage. I wonder what "KEEP IN VEHICLE FOR CUSTOMER USE" is not clear?

Called customer care today and asked them about the elusive PIN. According to them, the PIN is protecting a few systems in the vehicle. Anyone (including the dealer) who needs to re-flash some of the modules or program blank key-fobs MUST know the PIN. The dealer is supposed to leave the empty ziplock back in the vehicle for the owner to take possession. Authorized service departments do not need the PIN as they can recall it from Chrysler by using the online parts ordering system. The agent then put me on hold and called my dealer to verify they are able to access it. He then referred me to the dealer's parts department. I then called the parts department myself. They told me to simply come over with a government issued photo ID and an official document linking my VIN to my name (vehicle registration, for example) and they will gladly print the PIN for me from the Chrysler terminal.

Remote lock

This has been discussed in another thread on the forum, but I wanted to find out the opinion of our SFU family. If you use either the RKE or the handle button to lock your jeep while a door is open, the electronics will gladly lock all doors and will not give you any visual or auditory indication that the vehicle is not fully secured. This is the only vehicle I owned that does that. All my previous vehicles either refused to lock the doors and announce it (horn/lights) or give you a distinctive horn chirp. Any thoughts? Are there any advantages you can think of for such behavior?

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I would like to know when my Jeep is secure. This issue concerns me. It should't honk or flash till all doors are closed and secured.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Same here. You can leave the trunk door open and still lock the car and the car will not give you any notice or refuse to lock. I once almost left my Summit in a parking lot with the trunk wide open...

New TSB's

Just wanted to get everyone's attention to two new TSB's:

1. Poor SiriusXM reception.
I noticed this almost from the get-go. Compared to my Honda XM radio, the SFU reception was bad. Looks like I did not imagine this. The shark-fin antenna is bad and needs to be replaced: Poor Sirius Satellite Radio Reception

2. Diesel Exhaust Fluid
This is an information only TSB, but nonetheless is clearing out the guess work of whether the dealer is supposed to top-off DEF: Diesel Exhaust Fluid
