Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I find it very odd that if you leave the jeep running, and step out with the FOB, it only alarms inside the car, and only after you close the door. Drove my wife crazy listening to the alarm when I stepped into a convenience store. It should honk outside the Jeep, as I can not hear the inside alarm from outside the car.

Sounds like you need to mod your wife so that she honks the horn... at least until Jeep does a software update to make it right.

I turned off the honking when I lock the car. It bugs me. I've left the car running with the FOB in my coat pocket, pressed the lock button on the outside and it seemed to work fine.

This functionality was supposed to be there from day one but I will give a nod to the fact that it hasn't tumbled into the broken promises bin.

I don't know how many Chrysler platforms have Uconnect but it is a lot of them from what I have read. It would make sense to use a common backbone so that Chrysler can better support all the users like those of us in Jeep.

This platform is the centrepiece. All newly launched products after the Dart have been moved to the Harmon based UConnect system.

Does anyone get a map in 3D? I don't. Drove through Denver last night and figured if it was going to work it would be there. The map and nav features are the most disappointing IMO.

I hear you. As much as I love my Summit Diesel (that applies to the tech in general), the Nav seems positively last decade...Slow, lowish resolution, POI implementation is amateurish, etc... It generally does its job though, so I won't complain too much!

Yes, I get it in 3D. I also like the feature where it displays in the centre cluster - very handy

I saw those too after I updated, but I can't seem to get them to download. They show up in the Uconnect Store, but I don't see any option to download them. It just has a gray button that says "Included in Trial" (or something like that).

Maybe I just need to give it more time to actually download?

In other news, I had an interesting experience today after installing the new software. Everything seemed to go fine, but as I was pulling into the garage after doing the update, I got a screen that said my uconnect account was deleted. So I backed out of the garage (I don't get sprint reception in the garage) went back to the Apps screen and did the uconnect registration again.

After that I decided to test to see if everything was working OK, so let the car power down and then used my cell phone to trigger a remote start. This was the first time I've tried a remote start while sitting in the car (obviously not a common/planned use case ...). A few seconds after sending the remote start, the EVIC lit up and I thought it was about to start but it did nothing else. The thought occurred to me that I had the key fob in the vehicle, so maybe it couldn't go through its normal sequence because it usually locks the doors.

I figured the fact that the EVIC turned on indicated the remote start was sent, so uconnect must be fine, started the car myself and pulled into the garage. Shortly after turning the car off it turned back on which surprised me a bit. Obviously it was a result of the earlier remote start request, but that still seems a bit screwy.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Takes awhile for the remote start command to actually get there. Might have just been a timing thing.

When I did the software update yesterday it initially said I needed to register uconnect but after a couple minutes it picked it back up. I also havent seen the extra apps download yet.

I didn't unpair my phone before doing the upgrade... seems to not have mattered but we shall see.
