Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Are you in sport mode? Do you have heavy foot? If your answers are no then there must be something askew. I'm averaging this much around town. On the road I'm seeing 32+. Keep in mind that I have a very light foot and the road here in NJ is pretty flat!

You are also running winter blend. It will improve with the summer blend. Also, if this is your first fill, it was run a long time at the plant, therefore, unless you reset the milage with the fill, it will read low.

It has been my experience that 30 MPG Is virtually impossible running 70+ In the 4x4. To get 30, you have to be very conservative with driving style and the hills and wind have to be in your favor

Or have a NASCAR guy or gal give you a push. My total ave mpg Is 25.8 over 3180 miles. I am not a hyper miler but I am conservative both in speed and throttle. Wind, cold, blended fuel and warming the diesel up reduce mpg. It's not a VW Passat tdi, I love the jeep...an honest 25 is what I hoped for and that is what she does! Loving it in South Dakota!

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Hi All,

My wife and I just back from a 600+ mile round-trip from Las Cruces to Tucson (on one tank of diesel). We had the ACC set at 75 mph and our two-way average was 28.2 mpg (the trip computer read 28.6). This includes some driving in Tucson. My gues is that at 70 mph we'd hit 30 mpg.

Cheers,
Jim

I just drove from St. Louis, MO to Madison, WI (approx 330 miles) and got 25.2 mpg. I was blaming the strong winds, but maybe the expected mpg isn't as good as we thought it would be.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I have a couple hundred thousand miles driving diesels and in winter you lose 30% when it is cold because of the added resistance of everything being cold and the winter blend. It happened every year I owned my Super Duty so I think once spring is here and they get winter blend out you will see good mpg.

In order to know your mileage you must fill up completely, make a journey of known length, fill up completely again, do the math at the pump. This number is your mileage and no other. You may be pleasantly surprised because many of us have been seeing numbers that do not jive with actual mileage most particularly the DTE.
