This is what I do every time I fuel up since I often reset the mpg for short trips (to work and such). It's often pretty close each time though. I'm sure it's mostly because of the winter blend. I look forward to this same trip in the summer to see what the difference is. Either way, I love driving this Jeep more than anything I've ever driven before. It's getting the same or better mpg than the Patriot I had before it and is much larger and has way more cool stuff included. That and my 2 mastiffs fit with room to spare :-)

I'm mixing diesel and snow tomorrow. Taking 1/2 day off work to go exploring. I hope the forecast is accurate for the Mid-Atlantic!

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Well it arrived on 4 Jan 2014 in Las Vegas and picked up on 6 Jan 2014 and driven back to St. George, Utah. At present it has about 330 miles. Here are a few pictures in the mountains way off road around St. George. Oh and yes I'm running the Nitto Terra Grapplers 265 x 50R x 20.

Nice! St. George is beautiful, too.

It looks great out out there! I've always loved the St. George area.

Which dealer did you work with in LV? shoot me a PM if you don't want to post that info here. I had a really good experience last summer with one of the LV dealers and a difficult to troubleshoot issue with my ZJ. Thanks!

Yes St. George is really nice and it's a night and day difference from Chicago, believe me. The dealer I worked with in Vegas, opened I think in August of last year, they came from Arizona, it's called Sahara, it's 5050 W. Sahara, Las Vegas, Nevada. Checked out all of the dealers in Vegas and they were the only one that talked like they had some sense.

Welcome fellow Auburn owner. Whats your take on the noise level increase with the Nittos?

It's not bad, just according to what type of road you're driving on. Plus with the radio on I never really notice. I wanted the traction in snow in the ski areas and mountains; the Goodyears just didn't give me that but they were smooth and quite on the highway. I would have never gone into the mountains in the above pictures in post #1047 on the stock tires; way too many sharp rocks. I think the Nitto Terra Grappler is a great tire for my needs.

Thanks for your impressions - I keep going back and forth between the terra grapplers and the duratracs on the stock 18's -275/65 (and if I really want to keep the stock rims for now). I annoy myself with all my waffling on new tires.

Luckily, I live in a flat Houston so it's not pressing, but will need something soon so I can take her out of here.

I don't know anything about the Duratracs but I can attest to the abilities of the Grapplers. Good luck in you're choice.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

I loved my duratracs when I had them on my H3. My fondest memory was going out in the middle of the 4ft noreaster we got last year in them. Never had a traction problem with them.

They were definitely louder than my current tires, but they looked mean and handled any situation I threw at them. Jury is still out on the AT Adventures, but they've held up well thus far and are as silent as the stock lats that came with the Jeep.
