Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Wanted to take a moment and say thanks to everybody in these forums for the insights and experiences. I've been a long time lurker (about 6 months now), waiting to see how everything panned out the electrical and other issues that were happening over the summer. It gave me pause but very excited to take delivery of a Overland Diesel tomorrow. I got everything I wanted on it (Advanced Tech, Off Road and Engine Block heater) for around $5k under MSRP. Easy transaction done almost completely through email.

Block heater nothing....

-8 degrees the other day and my beasty SFU diesel fired up no problem. A little rattly until he warmed up but no issue whatsoever starting.

Fantastic pictures in a beautiful setting! I REALLY like auburn... not to deny summit owners some of their exclusivity, but I pray that color is available on lower trim JGCs for '15.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Like a lot of metallics Auburn looks fantastic in the sunlight but night is a different story. I own it mind you so I obviously like it but it should be kept in mind that the shimmering daylight copperish tone becomes something that would color blend with a turd at night. A little different than a metallic maroon (for instance) which just looks like a dull red at night.

Lol! Maybe this will serve as a "camouflage" to deter thieves from stealing it at night.

Yep I agree 100%. In the daytime it is beautiful in sunlight but once it's out of the sun or in the shade it's a different story. It can take on so many different shades from copper to a reddish shade of brown, to just plane muddy looking. I guess that's why I like it so much because it has all of these different facets of brown or copper according to when you see it. It took me two months to make up my mind. I was getting ready to walk out with a deep cherry then the next day when I was to pick it up I decided to change to the Auburn; having never seen one in person, just went sight unseen other than youtube videos and brochure pictures. I really like the diesel and the fact that with the Auburn color I don't see myself coming and going. Have not seen another one on the street here. I ordered mine in Vegas and now the dealer hear in St. George decided to get one. So far it's a keeper and does great in the mountains with the Nittos.

Big fan of that color wish it was offered on the overland. I love copper/brown, and I love really complex colors. That's one of the reasons I ended up with Maximum Steel, it can go from dark blue to grey to black depending on the lighting conditions.

Just a suggestion - why don't you open a new thread under troubleshooting or whatever its called - you have a much better chance of getting help there - and yes there have been some reports of that on here - IIRC something that traced back to a bad ground or loose wire????

Glad to see everyone is still enjoying their jeeps. I'm still dealing with the intermittent problem of the 4 wheel drive abs acc and trac control all going out. Also had the check engine light come on which had to be serviced. When it's working correctly it has been great. Even in the-30 temps we get to all the time here.
At about 1 month and 2000 miles now with def and oil looking good. Avg mpg has been around 25 and only 5 trips to the service department.

I had the same problem. It was an intermittent random event, happening at least 1x per day. Dealer replaced my radio today. So far so good.
