Exactly!

Hmmm, guess he didn't check any of the other fluids he is required to on the PDI and see the big BOLD print of " DIESEL " on the engine. Check and see if your washer tank is empty too.... nice!

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

In the end, isn't the salesperson the ultimate person responsible that the delivery check list is correctly followed? It is his/her sales commission and follow up (i.e. cruise ship) review that is at stake, right?

How the hell can you not know if you open the hood and see that big 3.0L CRD logo on the engine?

Does the label under the hood define "CRD"?

I got nothing on that one the salesman said the tech has prepped Cummins rans. So it shouldn't have been a surprise.

Note to all: check in the EVIC under Vehicle information/DEF level.

The ULTIMATE person responsible is the CUSTOMER!!

Don't rush the PDI, be informed, and take responsibility. Unlike production and transport, this is one area we do have control.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Just be thankful the dealership didn't fill it up with gas since they didn't seem to follow the checklist.
Now that would suck. I got to the gas station right after a Uhaul truck filled the tank with gas on a diesel. Oh-oh...

No kidding, but I'd still check the gas tank for grins..

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Hmph. I sent an email to my dealer yesterday trying to make sure everything was lined up. I mentioned that it seems other dealers are forgetting to top up the urea tank, so I said I wanted to be sure that was done. Here was his reply:

Quote:
Chrysler does not provide for a full tank of fuel or urea on their vehicles. Chrysler puts a few gallons of Urea and 6.0 gallons of diesel fuel when shipped. Dealers are under no obligation to fill either the fuel or the urea tanks on delivery.
