Same here, had a towel and wiped it down. No more black lint. I saw it all over the door and couldn't figure it out until I put my hand in it and it came out black.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

After driving my 2005 M3, it's amazing to me how luxurious the Summit is. I agree with JHegge, I feel like I'm driving someone else's ride. All of my friends make the same comment, they can't believe how nice the Jeep is.

It is probably a better fit for me anyway and fits in my garage. I can't wait until the middle of March to pick it up. Thanks to this forum I now know what to look for when I inspect it.
I know this is a little late, however I think you are a little optimistic, Mid March? Hope it works for you. Normal is at least 8 weeks.

New member. I have been a Diesel Mercedes SUV owner for many years. Just purchased my first Jeep and it is a GC diesel, it is amazing to drive. No comparison to the Benz and I can probably now sew up the holes in my pockets from reaching so deep to keep the Benz rolling.

Wow, a new convert to the Jeep believer club :-) Congrats. I looked at all of the luxury SUVs before deciding on the Jeep and love mine. Even with the mind numbing cold winter we've had in MN my average after 3,000 miles is 21.18mpg, and that's with mostly city/urban driving. Very pleased and expect it will go up when the weather warms and they change back to the summer fuel blend.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

My odometer is at 5,010 miles today. Oil life says 50%. How about that? Most miles are long trips and moderate ambient temperatures. About 1,200 miles were towing.
The DEF level dropped from 45% to 20% the other day. ... not too sure what is going on with that.

With average trip distance of 35 miles twice daily, my oil service indicator is at 14 % with 14000 km. Looks like I will get a little under 10000 miles between changes if this holds out.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Just took a road trip to Lutsen for weekend skiing. 850 miles round trip. Averaged 30 mpg there, and between driving around there for 3 days and driving back, about 28.5 mpg. That was on winter blend. Very happy with the milage at this point.

Today I towed a heavy trailer 150 miles, picked up a 2200 lb tractor, and drove home 150 miles. Averaged 24.5 mpg on the trip according to EVIC, which usually is conservative compared to calculations at actual tank fills. Most of the driving was on two lane highways having to slow down through every little town. Other than needing to push more on the pedal to accelerate and go up hills, it didn't really affect driving. I'm very pleased. End of May we're planning a camping trip towing a 29' camping trailer. Anxious to see how well it does with an even bigger load with more wind drag.

You were able to fit a Bonanza into a 29' camping trailer?

Wow!

I'm at 20% oil life left before first oil change. Thought I'd try changing my own oil. Partly to save some money, partly because I don't trust the dealers to do it right, use the correct oil, etc. I found the post for changing the filter, but not where the oil drain plug is, etc. The diesel supplement shows where the fuel filter goes, but want to make sure I open the right plug to drain the oil. My wife took her old Subaru to a local Good Year a few years ago and they drained the transmission fluid, the next day the transmission case cracked and had to have the car towed. Amazed it worked at all. Of course they denied they did it, had to get a used transmission installed, a total cluster. Anyway, found the filter on-line for $30 (http://www.factorymoparparts.com/68109834aa.html) and the oil at Advanced Auto Parts (local for $9.59/qt). Am I crazy to try this?
