Let me know how it goes, and where you are taking it. Per the attached (which you may already have), I read it to say that to avoid having to wait the 30 minutes to let the oil drain down out of the filter housing, they provide a procedure which involves using a suction tool to suck the oil out of the housing. Maybe you want to give them a copy :-).

I did have condensation after hi-pressure water was used to wash it for delivery. After I washed it at home I saw no more issues. At the dealer the tech told me that there are drain holes on each light unit and that they are not sealed at all and not to worry.

Shan, the two free oil changes on the eco-diesel require that they use Shell Rotella T in the warranty info. The dealer has that oil in stock just for the diesels. You should be fine. Good Luck

I'm not sure this is accurate - where did you get this information from?

The next day after I picked mine up, I bought 4 qts of Penzoil Ultra Euro L 5-30 from the Baytown Jeep dealer. If this wasn't a factory approved lubricant, they wouldn't be selling it. In fact, they had it hidden in a locked cabinet right in front of the parts sales counter; someone with a key had to be located to open it when I was there to pick them up. They had less than 12 qts. then.

Besides, wasn't this (the brand of oil filled by the factory being Pennzoil) covered in another thread? There are a couple of other specific brands that meet the Chrysler spec, AIR, a Shell product being one of them (don't recall if it was Rotella T or not) and a Mobil 1 product.

I would tell you guys that the wait and constantly checking for updates is the fun part, but it would be a lie.

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Just got my first oil change. They said the oil filter number has changed again, from part # 68109834AA to the new part # 68229402AA. It took me several tries to reset the oil indicator, I wound up pressing the pedal 4 times instead of 3 and it reset. Got a free DEF fill with the deal too. Took 3 hours at the dealer, because they also installed 5 flash updates. Good for 10000 miles now (hopefully)

Re: Welcome ALL 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel owners!

Shannon,

FYI - The original part number for the CRD Filter WAS 68229402AA but has been superseded to 68109834AA . Dealer prolly had some of the old part number in stock !

To reiterate :

- 68109834AA is the correct oil filter part number.

- Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5w30 or Mobil1 ESP Formula 5W-30 are both MS-11106 Chrysler spec for our diesels.

Hope this helps.
