Did you? Have you checked the jeep.com web site? They clearly disclose that the Summit has "Natura Plus leather", not genuine leather. Googling "natura leather" will bring you to the product web site on 1st hit, and the 2014 JGC interior page 2nd. I fail to see the deception. My anger is really directed toward Jeep, not you.
I did my due diligence.
If, somehow, I missed the truth in advertising disclosure on Jeep.com where they explain their lie about the leather, then by all means I will feel I share some of the blame for being deceived.
You are wrong, just saying. Exactly how does your link prove that Jeep is disclosing that the Summit doesn't have genuine leather?Did you? Have you checked the jeep.com web site? Which seems to indicate it may be different than what's described at naturaleathers.com. Also, when I searched for posts from those "in the know" (Scottina, Chevy, Milous, Willx, Marlon) I didn't find any definitive answers.Overland and summit use real leather.. Most manufactures now (especially in the UK) have to inform the customer whether the leather is real or not, most manufactures say "leather* interior". *atificial leather.
The Overland uses real leather, called Nappa which we all probably already know..
The Summit uses Natura Plus leather, still real leather but a slightly different method is use in it's preparation and manufacturing process. The Natura plus leather is based on and uses the same process as Natura leather. Natura meaning natural, nature etc etc...
This leather uses no chemicals at all in the manufacturing process, only natural ingredients are used, even natural ingredients are used in the tanning process. This is good for people who are allergic to chemicals in leather, so if you are allergic to the chemicals used in leather, the Summit is the car for you. The leather is one of the most breathable types of leather available.
The "Plus" in Natura Plus, just means that the leather has an extended treatment, to make it a more supple and softer leather. Extra treatment is done to make the leather more stable and as durable as other top quality leathers on the market..
So in summery, it's real leather, chemical free, and very soft
The reason you'll are not finding anything on google when searching "Natura leather" is because the term "Natura" is not an official name of the leather such as Nappa, Nubuck, Patent etc, etc.. The name "Natura" is a Trademark name given to leather which has undergone this chemical free process, The name "Natura" is a regisered Trademark which belongs to a specific manufacturer.. I explained it the best I could, Hope it makes sense?
To find more info on the leather, you have to search, "chrome free leather "or "chemical free leather" to pull more results..
I'd like to have a definitive answer from someone I trust (Milous, Willx, Chevy??) only so I know how to care for the material. I purchased a leather cleaner/conditioner from Chemical Guys and need to know if I should only use it on the dash and steering wheel (and maybe gear shifter?), or should I use it on the seats also? If the seats are a synthetic material then I don't want to use a leather care product on it, but rather something intended for that specific material. Thanks in advance.I'm curious if anyone has confirmed whether the Natura Plus Leather is the same as the Natura Leather described at Natura Leather ? Everyone seems to assume so, and I guess I have no reason to assume otherwise. Though there was this post: Which seems to indicate it may be different than what's described at naturaleathers.com. Also, when I searched for posts from those "in the know" (Scottina, Chevy, Milous, Willx, Marlon) I didn't find any definitive answers. It doesn't really matter to me personally since I have an overland. I'm just mildly curious. Though I don't quite understand the indignation if it is indeed not real leather. If it looks like leather, feels like leather, but has better longevity ... unless you really hate cows, I don't see what the difference is? Leather is not preferred *because* it's leather - it's preferred because of its properties. If there's something that has all the same properties but is even better, then isn't that ... well ... better? And even more frankly, if there *is* a material that's equal to or better than real leather in every way, but doesn't sacrifice cows, quite honestly that would be my preference.
Don't underestimate the amount of "stuff" you can, um...stuff...around the spare under the deck.Took half the day yesterday moving everything from the old Jeep into the new one. Tough finding places in the new one, as the old one had several cubby spots that the new one lacks.
Here is the thread. Willx is the absolute expert on this, so follow his instructions carefully. Is there a Uconnect thread here somewhere?
What version of Android do you run? I'm running Android 4.3.1 and the phonebook is working flawlessly on my Uconnect 13.38.52.Also still can't get phonebook to download to Uconnect from my Galaxy S3.
Typical rantings of a new Jeep lover. I can't agree more!! I'm having such a blast just playing with all the technology and customizing everything. I was up at 5am downloading the new Uconnect update and installing it. Oh and did I mention how much fun it is to drive?Picked up jeep diesel last night... 14 miles on her and only up to 100 now! Lots to learn but very intuitive... Must be an Apple! Lights do have moisture but they are amazing...auto dim fantastic! Mileage not yet...too much at idle..it is a no no but it just happened. Paired a 4s and a galaxy III (wife is not an apple) with phonebook... Cool! I have owned new suburbans...this is better but missing 3 row and did I say it is a diesel! I am learning to drive with a soft touch..otherwise the girl would launch me into the next county! Lots of power! I found the cord for block heater ...the picture was a big help! The only item it needs is tow or recovery hooks..I know it is a mall driving Summit but my wife can get stuck on an oil road...oh that's me stuck! LOL I will report more as I get miles on her...overall I am in love with a Jeep! If you can't make up your mind as to buy or not...you have wasted too much time...it is great and it is a diesel!
