Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

Service deals are usually negotiated by the dealers, unless the corporate website shows it as part of the MSRP.

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

I just did my first oil change at 5,500 miles. oil life was already at 5%. I used Mobil 1 ESP. total cost was just under $130.00 and it took about an hour with the 30 minute drain time. It does take a long time to completely drain. 8 Quarts of that oil is very expensive and the filter was over $30 by itself. That is about as cheap as you are going to be able to change the oil in our ecoDiesel's. I need to have the flash update done for the rapid oil life dropping.

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

I got a deal from my dealer for lifetime oil changes (up to 4 per year, no mileage restrictions) for $800.

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

My dealer charged me $210 for 4 diesel oil changes - a Mopar offer. And I got a $10 iTunes card! All dealers should have access to the Mopar service offer, my dealer does not mark it up like some do.

I've changed the oil & filter myself so far, so I don't know how much the additional charge would be.
Here's the fine print (for the $34.95 oil & filter change): Engine oil replacement up to 6 qts. New Mopar® Oil Filter. Fluid level inspection. Additional charges may apply, including synthetic oil. So reading it would state that "synthetic oil" is an additional charge (which is required with the diesel). Also looked at engine maintenance / tune up does not include diesel.

I paid $180 after tax for just an oil change, no DEF.

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

Are you guys (just those who bought the diesel for economy) saving enough on fuel to make up for the extra maintenance costs?

I just passed the 20,000 mile mark and here are my numbers in round figures:
- No towing: 16,000 miles/28 mpg avg = 571 gal x $3.95 per gal = $2257
- Towing: 4,000 miles/18 mpg avg = 222 gal x $3.95 per gal = $878
- 3 oil/filter changes = $200
- DEF no charge from dealer
- Fuel filters = $131
- Total cost = $3466

In comparison using my 2011 JCG hemi for everything but towing:
- 16,000 miles/18 mpg avg = 889 gal x $3.65 per gal = $3,244
- 4 oil/filter changes = $120

Using my Duramax for Towing:
- 4,000 miles/12 mpg avg = 333 gal x $3.95 per gal = $1,317
- 1 oil/filter change = $60
- 1 fuel filter change = $90
- total cost for both = $4,831

In my case due to where I live, my dealer, the type of driving I do, and the milage I put on my vehicles (over 20k since the end of November), I'm money ahead.

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

My dealer quoted $150 saying that the bulk of the cost is in the oil. Filter itself is also $50.

Can anyone else confirm / deny those numbers?

Re: What does your dealer charge for an oil change?

That seems high at $150

I went to jeep owner website and found service coupons, there is an oil change one on there for like $40 for my 2014 diesel grand Cherokee.
