Aak274 a I see you drove yours back from Koons about a month earlier than I did. We should have timed it better, we could have car pooled on the way down!
You'd think local dealers would have TRIED to get close on price, but I had the same problem you did. Most wouldn't even give me a price when they heard about the deal at Koons.
But your local dealer will get the more lucrative service business.
We have a Honda dealer around 4 miles from me who will not sell a Honda for less than sticker. Forty miles north is another dealer that will sell for invoice without even haggling. They have both been around for awhile, but have very different business models.
Followed a black limited EcoDiesel on 680 N in Milpitas Tuesday afternoon/evening. I love admiring the headlights as they come up - and then the easter egg of seeing the EcoDiesel badge on the tail end makes the experience
I'd guess a number of them are hiding in the service bays. I had the check engine light come on and typical Jeep service. No communication and asked if I could leave it overnight as they were busy (I had an appointment for a couple days in advance). I couldn't leave it and they said a loaner was not an option. They did manage to get to it and said it was an update with no detailed explanation. It's definitely a night and day difference between bringing my wife's MDX in for service and the Jeep. I'm still more of Jeep type person...but I'm not sure how much longer. This is my 2nd new GC in a little over a year. I should have learned. Suppose to bring it back again for new head unit as well due to service vehicle phone flashing often. Maybe they'd have time to check the alignment on the service order when I bring it back.
All auto's are the same and it does not matter what you own! They all have problems. Case in point, just had to replace the one way clutch pulley on my wife's XC90 and it has only 100,000km. $2k later it should be fixed in a week.
I have not had any issues so far on my 2014 diesel overland and will pissed if there are issues like you appear to be having yet at least there should be parts readily available...the xc90 parts I need are not even in the country!
Hope things work out on your end!
As for other diesels in my neck of the woods, hard to tell! What's the big give away other than the little logo in the back door panel?
I'm on my 3rd Jeep.....2003 Liberty 140K no issues other than regular maintenance, handed to my daughter and now my son for college. Still runs and drives like the day I bought it. 2008 GC 4.7L 98K not one issue other than regular maintenance. Now my daughters for school and work. Still runs and looks like the day I bought it. Not one drip or drop of oil or fluids from either. 2014 GC Diesel. 4K miles and not one issue or complaint... Getting 24MPG in the city and a max of 31MPG on the highway.
I've seen a few on the road.....now that I have one, i pay much more attention.
All cars have issues and all dealers are not the same. Wife had 1 toyota and it was nothing but a PITA. Thank god we had an extended warranty.
Based on the different headlight style I don't think I see very many 2014 Grand Cherokees of any type in my area. I also see very few new-Cherokees. I'm not sure if people around here aren't interested or if they just don't really have the money to spend on new cars right now.
Not seen another on the Cape yet, even at the local dealers, which is odd as I would think it would be hard to find a better vehicle for this part of the world!
Maybe once they get old and rusty the Cape Codders will want them!

Here she is today at the dealer...about to receive first oil change a little early at 3,000mi. 8qts of euro spec and new element. No drips, will probably wait another 5,000 mi until next change
They're still quite rare in the Columbus, OH area in my experience.
I got quite a few stares when I parked in the 'eco' spots at IKEA in Cincinnatti, OH a couple months ago though. The spots are marked for hybrids, electrics and diesels
My EcoDiesel badge wasn't sealed properly and moisture was corroding the badge from the inside. When the dealer replaced it under warranty I had them just not put it back on.
I don't care if people think I'm a tree hugger, they just started my de-badging process for me
PS. I know I need to update my name on here since I got the beauty.
'14 Brilliant Black, CRD, Tech, ORAII
Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have an Overland with 10k miles and have not had a single issue yet. I have changed the oil and added DEF and that is it. Hopefully that continues
