Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

2013 Durango rt, it was the womans, she traded it in this spring for a tiguan; she thought I was going to buy a touareg tdi, but with all the mess with vdub I went with the jeep, where I also got an amazing trade in on my 2012 ram 1500 hemi 68k.

19k first ball joint and right around 45k the front wheel bearing on passenger side, driver side ball joints and replaced bushings (numerous) and brakes of course where they found a caliper not working properly. the rest is truly bulletproof!

very interested to see if the same thing happens to my jeep..... I plan on driving this thing for 200k +, of course the jeep trackhawk will be in my garage and be a nice day driver when it hits the showroom floor.

loved the way the Durango drove, long wheelbase made it smooth and the highway mpg wasn't the worst in the world. power was ok, but the ram 1500 would walk it.

good luck with your new ride

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

My mileage didn't go up until 3k miles after the CAT was installed thus not correlated.
I don't understand the turbo lag comment. Mine has virtually no lag at all and I know what I am talking about having put just a little less than 200k miles on my Super Duty and in my 8th year of ownership of my BMW 335 with twin turbos. At worst there is mild lad. Nothing like the Super Duty and close to my 335. If the lag was that bad why didn't you return to the dealer and see if that was normal function? If I had significant lag I would be back asking why since when I test drove the diesel there was hardly any as well.
I could not be happier with mine and Imam no fanboi for any manufacturer...

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

2014 Overland bought new, now 26k miles. It has been FANTASTIC, very comfortable ride, no issues.....except right now in at dealer for CAT replacement after 2 P20EEs. Love the torque, love the sound, it has been a great vehicle. Hopefully CAT replacement resolves things, I admit to being nervous about future issues with emissions systems, post warranty. any thoughts?

Mileage has dropped off for some reason after getting around 30 early on. Now the best I can do is around 24. Still love the vehicle......would get another......Wagoneer?

Winter blend (has anti gel) is making its way around so MPG drops a bit because of it.

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

Love my my15 Limited. I just pulled 2 tonne U-Haul trailer 1,700 km sitting at 100km/hr without any issues whatsoever. The torque from the diesel is brilliant the economy was great at around 14lt.

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

No regrets here, it has become my favorite of all time. I have 43,312 miles with no significant issues, just fuel, DEF, and new tires today. The map update is my only frustration.

Merry Christmas...

No regrets here. 43,500 miles, 15,000 towing a 21 foot travel trailer New cat at 40,000 miles, installed promptly after code appeared. No other issues. The car drives like a dream amd tows smoothly and effortlessly.

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

Happy w/my 2014 Summit after some early and frustrating layovers at the dealer for exhaust issues. Seems all sorted now and love the engine feel and performance, though my city mileage is below spec.

2015 Overland here. 18000 miles. Averaging just over 30 MPG since last service. A window lift motor going out is the only non-scheduled service I've had. Great traveling vehicle. Is one of those rare vehicles that you can just get in and go and go and go. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

So your average is higher than the EPA highways rating??

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

The EPA rating hardly reflects reality. It's a standardized test, designed to give results for a very specific set of parameters.

I do a lot of highway travel and I live in the South, so it's warm.

Sorry. It is what it is.

Re: Who regrets buy the diesel?

^^Its nothing to be sorry about.. I just thought that was surprising, in a good way. Very very rarely do vehicles even meet the EPA estimates and you claim your average is higher than the highway.. That's good
