No. I dreamed so long to have my first diesel and cherish each sound and performance out of it.
My first winter with -30C are to come, and I hope to keep the same good opinion.
Not at all. There have been some well documented teething problems, especially with the MY'14s which is what we have, but I would purchase it again without hesitation.
I've been drinking the diesel kool-aid since 2006 now and just can't go to gassers. I love the driveability and economy too much. Even though I know it doesn't always make fiscal sense to go diesel, I just like em!
Same here... I am at a point in my life that I don't really care if some thing makes "Fiscal" sense anymore or not. If I want it and it harms no one else, I get it. I have worked and saved all my life to enjoy a little bit of retirement....
3 Things to remember... Another day is never promised.... You can't take it with you... and.... If you don't spend it, your kids will.....
Love my diesel JGC. I did have numerous trips to the dealer for several items in the first year...but the experience was pretty good and no MILs since the cat replacement 3,000 miles ago. Only annoyance is the infrequent shudder due to carbon build up...but I am not going to have my engine rebuilt for a minor minor issue.
Absolutely no regrets. Our X5 diesel convinced us this was the way to go and the Jeep diesel is even better. The range on a tank of fuel....the torque...what isn't to like?
Sitting at 50,000 miles on my 2014 my only regret was not buying the skid plate sooner other then going through one injector they have been trouble free miles. Plan on hanging onto this for 200 to 300k
:thumbsup:No regrets on my 2014! A couple of minor issues in the beginning and a CAT swap out @ 17K miles - rock solid since @23K. Pretty darn good IMHO for a new year model/engine. The responsiveness and attitude of the dealership is key to making any issues as painless as possible.
I don't regret getting the diesel. If I had done more research I would not have picked up the 12/2013 build and picked a later build. Truck spent 47 days in the shop during the first 7 months of ownership. Got word last week that Chrysler is going to buy back jeep and will try the ecodiesel in the ram chassis. Family currently has 3 ecodiesels.
No regrets AFTER the emission problem and the pesky oil leak was fixed. I had doubts at first on buying the diesel because of these problems. The oil leak took WAY to long to diagnose and fix, but that was because of the poor service at the dealership.
I would by a diesel again.
