WIX has our fuel filters on their website. WF10165 listed today. I'm going to make sure they have a 3 micron rating and if that's the case I will use these instead of the over priced Mopar ones. WIX is and should be a trusted brand. Any thoughts?
I generally trust OEM over aftermarket filters (although I have an aftermarket air filter). WIX is a pretty big name though. What's the price difference we're looking at? Isn't there 2 filters that need changing at once as well?
I bought 2 filters off an eBay MOPAR dealer for about a dollar more a piece. I am sticking with OEM and will be changing mine out soon at 25K miles.
I am anxious to see what comes out when I loosen the plastic screw draining the fuel out to change the filters. I have never seen much water in my diesel fuel on my Super Duty in 180K miles expect the same from this system too...
Does anyone have the Mopar spec's on the fuel filter for the Ecodiesel. The Wix are 6 Micron @ 98.67% efficient. Does anyone know for sure the micron rating of the Mopar ones? Thanks.

From the user guide,pg 180: ......We recommend you use MOPAR Fuel Filter. Must meet 3 micron rating. Using a fuel filter that does not meet the manufacturer's filtration and water separation requirements can severely impact fuel system life and reliability.
6 Microns isn't all that good. I hope the MOPAR filter is better than that. That is large enough to cause wear on the pump.
I too would love to know what the filter specs for the fuel filter are since I am replacing both of mine with MOPAR OEM filters...
I was at the dealer this morning to verify the dreaded P20 came back so while I was waiting I asked the parts guy to verify what micron the fuel filters were. He had to look in about three or four places and finally found it....
5 Micron is what the Mopar filter is.
If the original is 5 micron, the 6 micron Wix should be fine. You have to be careful getting the smallest micron of diesel filters, because they plug easily in the winter if the temp's dip real low and the vehicle sits outside.
I see I can get original Mopar for the same price off ebay as the Wix filter. I'll buy the Mopar all day if that 's the case. Had no trouble last winter with 3 micron Mopar. Should change every late fall to avoid trouble in winter months.
Most 2ndary or final fuel filters are 2 or 5 microns. I really would like to know if out MOPAR filters are 3 microns. That would help keep wear down on the pump...
