Wonky HVAC

My climate control has gone wonky...both in auto mode and in manual mode. Seems to be mostly on the driver's side...for example, car was sitting outside in the lot (daytime) while I attended the Barrett-Jackson circus on Saturday. Outside temps got to about 72 degrees...lots of sunshine. Driving home, the climate control was set at 71...and it blew hot air. Got too damn hot so I shut it off and went windows open. This morning, it was 45 degrees...and no hot air in the footwell. WTF!

The outside air temp is indicating correctly. Don't think it's the blend door problem...likely a sensor.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Vehicle is a JCG Limited 3.0...and for 18 months since I've had the vehicle, the HVAC system worked like a charm...

Been to the dealer lately? They could have done a flash; many times HVAC flashes require a reboot by disconnecting the battery. Even if you haven't been to the dealer, a battery pull is a good place to start.

Re: Wonky HVAC

Went to the dealer yesterday. They did a reflash of the PCM with an update for the HVAC software. Didn't solve the problem...

Specifically, the the driver's side HVAC is blowing cold air through the left side vent and lukewarm (at best) air through the footwell vent. Passenger side seems to be working properly. This is at 30 degree weather outside.

Starting to wonder if it's a blend door or something else?

I did the battery disconnect. Had zero effect on fixing the problem. Took it back to the dealer late this morning...service writer said they won't get to it until tomorrow.

Had the same issue. Dealer replaced the blend door motor and gear. Gear was stripped. Works like a champ now.

Mine is under warranty, so the repair was at no charge.
