Wrong DEF messeage on my2014 Limited Grand Cherokee

I got the messeage of Wrong DEF see Dealer. I have used both dealer DEF and Walmart blue DEF with no prior problems. I bought and entered A new container for Blue DEF form walmart and got this messeage. What are the solutions for this issue. 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

Ok, on the road again and the Wrong DEF indicator happened again. Changed injector first time along with CAT and worked until i added DEF. Now back at square one and they have changed the injector again and it will not reset the code. This is the second time in this month. love my Jeep but this is getting old. This time it happened on the road in NM. Lucky i was near a large dealer. Money for Hotel till it gets fixed.

Re: Wrong DEF messeage on my2014 Limited Grand Cherokee

Unrelated, but max care covers 'trip interruption' costs up to some absurdly low amount, however it does include this.

I think I'm just going to purchase DEF from the dealer so theirs no grey area on what type of DEF should have been used, or how it was stored. My recent DEF tank has last I believe almost 15k miles, one of the recent flash updates the DEF usage went down.

Well got it on the road again and as soon as i went to set the crusie control it stated that ACC/ FCW not available service required. Drove home and went to dealership i bought it from. Lucky i had extended warranty. The ACC module is gone. That means no cruise at all. Now in the shop and awaiting the part and the engineer to look at it. Crazy.

Wrong DEF messeage on my2014 Limited Grand Cherokee

I only use Mopar-branded DEF for exactly the reason that FCA can't claim I purchased bad DEF and I also only fill the tank to 1/2 full, only refilling to 1/2 full when the level drops below 1/4 full. Mopar-branded DEF is super expensive compared to Peak brand or others but has a clearly labeled expiration date (no deciphering of codes required).

I also purchased the 8 year/120,000 mile MaxCare warranty because I have low confidence in the emissions system reliability for the EcoDiesel.

Here in south Florida the summer temps are almost always in the mid 90's, which drastically shortens DEF life. My TTP is intended to prevent crystalization of the DEF, if possible, which would clog the DEF injector.

Even with my precautions I recently got the "incorrect DEF detected; see dealer" message, which required replacement of the injector.

I've thought about this, but if they want to be jerks can't they just claim you must have put in some non-Mopar DEF as well, even though you bought some Mopar DEF?

I have thought about buying a DEF refractometer and "simply" draining the tank and refilling with fresh if there is ever an issue reported with the SCR system.

I keep DEF (that I purchased freshly manufactured) in my basement "DEF cellar" where it is stored under carefully climate controlled conditions. That way I know I am not using DEF that has been kept in a hot warehouse. I add it one 2.5 gallon jug at a time, keeping the tank between 25% and 50% full.

But you never know, given the problems with this SCR design... I don't want to have the fault of their bad system foisted on me due to some tech having a bad day.
