Your average oil temp on VM 3.0

Let's see how much average oil temp do you usually see on Diesel Jeep. I am seeing 210-221 everyday.

204 to 210 normal highway driving. 220 to 230 on long uphill grades with near max payload, roof box, and hitch cargo carrier.

The oil is good up to 400 degrees. I wouldn't sweat that.

Re: Your average oil temp on VM 3.0

of course this is without towing. Towing is much hotter.

Re: Your average oil temp on VM 3.0

Has anyone ever gotten their oil temp into the red zone on the EVIC and noticed what temp that was? I want to learn the same thing about Trans. temp for when I am towing over mountain passes.

Re: Your average oil temp on VM 3.0

One thing that I have noted during my commute is that the oil temp in same traffic conditions is about 220-222, but if I use AC, it drops down to 208-210 range. Conventional wisdom would have said otherwise.

Re: Your average oil temp on VM 3.0

I searched around and found many reporting 260F oil and 240F trans. when towing, and still normal and no warning on EVIC.
