Battery charging

Hi All

I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Is it possible to charge the battery on the terminals under the hood?

Re: Battery charging

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - AGM Battery

Charge directly at the battery terminals, removing the negative terminal.
Use a battery charger recommended for AGM batteries.

Re: Battery charging

Depends.

If you are talking about a battery tender or other low-current charger, the jump posts are fine.

Anything more than maybe 5 amps (IMHO) you should charge at the battery.

Re: Battery charging

Thanks TomK

I did (Fryday Night)already charched it by using the posts under die bonnet. I did it with a low amp charger (Hawkins 6) and charged it for about 13 hours. The charger did not indicate that the battery was fully charged but the Jeep did start very easy.

Re: Battery charging

Yes. I put a pigtail for my Cytek charger on the terminals and use the automobile setting. Works great.
