End of Dodge

Over the last week, I have seen some reports claiming that Fiat is planning to kill off the Dodge brand. First of all, is there anybody that can confirm or deny this (Milous, Scott, Marlon, Dev)? Secondly, what are your thoughts on this? Personally, Dodge goes a long way back and has a lot of heritage, and I think it would be a shame to kill it off. In my opinion, they are the only brand that still produces cars with a true "muscle car" feel (with the Charger and Challenger). Hopefully I will be getting either Charger or Challenger in SRT trim (waiting for the Hellcat) within the next couple of years (as a companion to my Jeep).

Only Dodge related "killing off" I've heard off is the Durango getting "deleted" in place of Wagoneer. Isn't Dodge the only truck/pickup line that CJD offers? Hard to imagine a "Big 3" with no pickup trucks

There are more articles about this online from other websites. These are just the two I read first and come from (arguably) the most reliable source.

Thanks-I realized afterwards...and that I should be on here too early or too late in the day-mind doesn't work. It would be interesting how Fiat would handle the "liquidation" of the brand. I mean, NJ troopers ride around in their Chargers here. Are they willing to give Ford the State Police business back? Either way, much as I'd love to see Alfas and Fiats around(again) I hope it's not to replace Dodge.

Here's an article published today by MotorTrend, which is undoubtedly the most reliable source so far:

Must be a slow news day for journalists. Dodge is alive and well and at this time there are no plans to "kill" the brand.

Re: End of Dodge

As long as the Pickups,Grand Caravans, Chargers, and Challengers are around, Dodge won't be going anywhere.

Re: End of Dodge

I think we will see the disappearance of the 3-pedal manual transmission before the disappearance of Dodge.

Re: End of Dodge

Someone said something similar about Pontiac a while back.... Not that I think this is the same. Dodge should be here for a while. The speculation comes because the largest brand recognition came from the Dodge Ram which of course is not just RAM.
