Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

I'm glad to hear that Jeep/Chrysler aren't relocating any U.S. jobs to China.

But I'm not surprised that Mitt lied about this whole situation to try and booast his numbers. There is something about Mitt that I just do not trust.

I'm a registered Republican but I'll be voting for Obama. So will several other Republicans I know. None of us voted for Obama in 2008 but this year we will. They all echoed my distrust of Mitt. None of us could quite put our finger on it but there is just something about the guy we do not trust.

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

another aspect is the yearly wage of all those people . You have some one making 50k ( example ) paying taxes on that amount , and spending the free money and they loose their job

Now they are making 20k ( example ), If that , paying taxes on that amount ( considerably less) and having no discretionary income to spare.

So the government would take a huge hit from the tax loss , The economy would slow due to the lack of spending by the private sector , the consumer goods would drop off ,more people would loose their jobs . the deficit gets larger .....

where does it end?

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

The problem with Obama is he lives in a dream world where socialism works, and that he doesn't understand a damn thing about economics.

I would prefer my Jeep to have not been built to having had the bailout. I love my Jeep and all, but I'd rather not have the UAW owning a percentage of a company they nearly killed, and I'd rather not have the US government being a major shareholder for a failed company that is continuing to fail (GM).

I think Romney is the best candidate we've had in a LONG time. A lot of people don't trust him because they've been brainwashed by the media that "big business" is bad. Still others don't trust him because of his religious beliefs (amazing how if you say anything negative about Obama you're a racist, but making jokes about Romney being a Mormon is totally OK).

I can't wait for the fool Obama to be out of office, maybe we can see some actual economic recovery with him out of office and not spending us into oblivion.

Okay, if there was now bailout, there would not be no Jeep and if there was it would not be produced by Chrysler in America but by a Chinese company most likely because they have the money to buy everything apparently!!!

The UAW didnt kill the company!!! DO we have to go back to the fact that Daimler crippled the company to the point where it was hard for it to recover and then it was purchased by private investors (He is the investors that couldn't do anything)! Or they should have let Bain Capital take over and sell off its part and layoff everyone.

Not that Im a socialist but look at Switzerland, yea they pay high taxes but look at all the benefits they get. If you really want to say Obama is a socialist then why is he trying to lower taxes.

Now for you calling Obama a FOOL, I just want to say that this FOOL is the same FOOL that Pres. Clinton endorses. Last time I check in the past 20 or more look at the Presidents who were in office. When the Democrats were in office, we seen the economy grow, when the republicans specifically the Bush's, the country went down hill. Since during the Clinton admin. it was so great, I would support Obama just because of that even if the rest of his policies were not so great.

Last thought , in the case of GM, its actually not failing because they just posted a $1.5 Billion profit. Yes their share price is not great due to the market.

Romney is a good candidate but there are a lot of things that he has to get together. Also when looking at a candidate you have to look at the whole ticket. Ryan is not the greatest and he is not presidential material yet, if something was to happen to Romney! No thank you!!!

I agree with that sentiment. But, our Jeeps, and other cars, are not being built by the union bosses or the politicians. They are being built by men and women who go to work every day in order to keep a roof over their head and food on the family's table.

That sure beats having more people on unemployment, or more vehicles being imported.

I guess more people would give him a shot if they could tell what they would be getting. I certainly can't.

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

I gotta give you American citizens credit for taking an active role in elections, not like that here in Canada!
As an outside observer, I've heard "At least with Obama you have the devil you know, whereas with Romney, you have the devil you don't know."
Some argue "what have we gotten with 4 years of Obama?", others argue "What will we get with 4 years of Romney?".
It's to bad you can't look into the future and take the guess work out of all this.

I think the investment (bailout) in Chrysler has worked well to date, it could've gone real bad and lost all that money.
