Welcome to politics.

All candidates have to appeal to their party's extremist bases in the primaries. If you remember, correctly, Obama did the exact same thing, appealing to the extremist socialists in his primary against Clinton, before taking a much more moderate tone in the general election (though still a decidedly socialist one).

It's a sad reality of our two party system, where the bases of the parties are extremists, and the majority of moderate people float between the two parties and those people can't be won over until you go through the extremists.

Like what happened with GM, Solyndra, and a huge number of other companies that Obama gave our money to.

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

I am still trying to see how the Dems have buffaloed such a large group of folks with their Romney lied about Jeep production lie.

Romney stated:

1. Obama took Chrysler into bankruptcy. TRUE
2. Obama sold Chrysler to the Italians (Fiat). TRUE
3. He Italians are going to make Jeeps in China. Link where Chryer agrees win that statement. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne U.S.-built Jeeps will continue legacy [The Blade, Toledo, Ohio] - Businessweek

Romney never said that existing production would go to China but that is the spin the Dems are putting on his comments when they LIE about what Romney said.

Y'all need to stop drinking the Kool-Aid and start thinking for yourselves.

I completely agree that each citizen should start thinking & asking questions of our government as the majority of media is either coached or too afraid to ask the tough question. There is always 2 sides to every story and it's very important to look also to the "why" something happened instead of just "what" happened. All politicians end up lying to us in one way or another about something. Sometimes they lie to us because they aren't given the full story either & things are done behind everyone's back. I believe that many Presidents are just stupid and ignorant little puppets for others running the show. It's just so flippin' corrupt that it's not surprising that we're in debt beyond belief and nothing ever gets accomplished. A former President once said "if it happens in politics it's planned to happen." For all we know our debt will basically "disappear" if/when the world goes to a world currency. Our federal government has a history of cooking the books, for example like the missing $2.3 trillion defense dollars the day before 9/11/01 that was never accounted for.

So, everyone on this topic is partly right and partly wrong (except for me). I just vented because I haven't heard any new tidbits lately and I'm getting impatient with about 1 month before the official/unofficial order date for the '14's.

Now even if you dont want to believe written print, watch the video and you will hear as clear as day, Romney's distinct annoying voice!

You have officially been stood correct.

Your Welcome!!!

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

Nice try, but you need to actually listen to what was said. Romney reported that he had read a story, he did not claim factual knowledge of the facts underlying the story. Jeep actually acknowledged that a story from Bloomberg was not well reported and led to the rumor. Nothing Romney said was inaccurate.

Alternative, just read the title of the link you posted. Romney picks up incorrect story ... From the link. "The Bloomberg story, however, sparked the confusion in the first paragraph of the story, saying Chrysler planned to return Jeep output to China "and may eventually make all of its models in that country.""

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

Regardless, the point was not that he just said something that was stated incorrectly but he took it and ran with it. He even has a TV ad that He has yet to pull his ads off the air that state that. Spent millions on it. Now Donald Trump has gone on to repeat the same thing after it was clarified. Its ridiculous. So I'm sorry but Romney is wrong for doing that so he deserves all the backlash. Bloomberg didn't say it wrong it just wasn't clear!

When I first read it, I didn't take it the same way he. He really lacked common sense

Well, I certainly recall what Romney said.

Romney claimed that Jeep is thinking about moving ALL production to China - so YOU should be very careful when talking about spinning anything..

Listen closely - maybe you can hear it, too..

Re: Message From Sergio Marchionne Regarding Jeep Production

From Twitter:

Donald Trump:

"Obama is a terrible negotiator. He bails out Chrysler and now Chrysler wants to send all Jeep manufacturing to China--and will!"

Ralph Gilles response:

"You are full of shit!"

In a second Tweet, Gilles added: "I apologize for my language, but lies are just that, lies."

So you are honestly suggesting that we should vote somebody into office who doesn't know what he's talking about?

I am not telling anybody who to vote for. All I am saying is that the much ballyhooed "lie" was not a lie.

Twice people have posted the clip where the first words out of Romney's mouth are "Today I saw an article that says ..." They then claim that because he quotes an article that is in error, that he is responsible for the journalism behind the article. Their argument is that he should be omniscient and should have known it was wrong.

As for the Romney ad - I have not seen it, so will not opine on it. If anybody has a link to it, I will look at it.

As for Trump, he is not controlled by Romney. What he has stated is incorrect as he has stated the production move is fact; that is incorrect.

Now to answer your question, who is more uninformed? The guy that quotes an article them at is incorrect or the guy that keeps blaming Benghazi on an Internet movie long after he knew that the movie had nothing to do with the attack?
