Re: U.S. regulator says investigates Chrysler over ignition switches

No surprise. This is that lame-assed key design they were running that stuck out a mile from the ignition switch. At the same time, someone thought it would be cool to move the ignition switch from the steering column to the dash.

I remember checking out that first model year they had that setup. My first thought was, I wonder how long that's going to take to turn the ignition off or even snap the key off in the switch due to banging it with your knee.

SMH...

'41 Ford ? It had a steering column switch. Think '39 did also. Came back from an all expense paid vacarion in SEA in early '70 and had to ask the nice Avis lady where the key went.

My Crossfire has this switchblade key, is that what you are talking about ?

Re: U.S. regulator says investigates Chrysler over ignition switches

only thing I learned from the article is back the seat up so your knee don't hit the fob in the switch. my knee has never hit the key in any situation. Im not tall by any standard eighter, at 5 foot 5 inch, I still sit further back then some people a little taller then me!
