Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

Take a look at the second picture and tell me what you think. Is some aftermarket company making these? If so, this guy sunk a lot of money into his.

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

It's a conversion kit made commonly made by AEV http://www.aev-conversions.com/vehic...ute-double-cab
Been around for over a decade.

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

But it doesn't look like a four door and the second window looks bigger than the American piece - like the one that Jeep has displayed. Hard to see in that little newspaper picture.

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

Official pictures have not been released.

This is one of the proto-types.. BUT not the official version.

I hope they offer it in North America with the diesel.

They did say 4 door option and would on the same Toledo line as the new version.

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

Didn't Jeep offer its own truck conversion kit at one point? Last year, the local dealer had a couple of new JKU truck conversions on the lot. Stupid expensive though. I think upper $50k low $60k.

The ones you saw at the dealership were the AEV conversions I linked to in the second post in this thread

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

What underdeveloped dwarfs would fit in the back of this truck? And what is the purpose of this little door? My Irish Setter would not be able to squeeze thru. Maybe for cat owners ?

Yeah, that does seem silly.

I'd rather they have a flip down tire carrier on the back that could move down and out of the way of the rear gate when you need to open it.

Or, just do what every other pickup manufacturer does and mount it under the bed.

Re: Wrangler Pickup Spotted?

That green interior reminds me of GM interiors out of the 60-70's.

I actually like the side mounted spare. Easy to get at and doesn't rust in place under the bed. And it's in keeping with the style of the old Jeep pickups. But yeah, it does make getting in and out of the back seat a beotch.
